August is here and schools have broken up. I hope you're enjoying the summer (I've decided not to mention the weather anymore!)
I've had a busy few days, starting with a day trip to see Mum and Dad on the Isle of Wight. I particularly wanted to see Dad as his back has been causing him a lot of pain again and he's going to have to go back into surgery as soon as possible. I'm pleased to say he looked really well though, despite the agony.
It was a surprise visit, the only downside… there wasn't any homemade fruit cake to greet us, which Dad always makes when we go down! I must get the recipe for you. It takes him next to no time to prepare and it tastes out of this world.
We headed home in the afternoon but not before stopping off at the fun fair to go on a couple of rides! The next day I ordered the Acer TSV from QVC. We're waiting with excitement for its arrival…. I opted for the 4 Easy Payments (always helps!)
When ordering the TSV it reminded me of my very first computer. My Sinclair Spectrum was given to me by Mum and Dad over 25 years ago! I just loved it and the games were brilliant. Hungry Horace, Jet Pack and Horace Goes Skiing were my favourites. I also spent hours and hours typing up a programme to play 'Hang Man'. It was promptly saved to cassette tape! How technology has moved on!
Looking forward to some fabulous jewellery coming up on QVC. Sunday 5th August Amber Discoveries, was back on air, one of my favourite shows – hope you caught it. I'm also thrilled to be a part of Diamonique Day on Wednesday 8th August. I'm on air with Andrea McLean at 7pm and then the finale with 'Celebrate with Diamonique' at 10.
Have a good week and I'll see you soon.
Ps. An hour of technology featuring Apple this Tuesday 7th at 8pm… Can't wait!
This week's fact. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. Its temperature can reach over 400 degrees Celsius but equally it can be very cold, as low as -170 degrees Celsius.
