Astalift skincare is coming to QVC

Astalift Discovery CollectionThis month sees the launch of a fantastic new skincare range on QVC. The Astalift anti-ageing skincare brand has been developed using Fujifilm’s specialist technological background and expertise in collagen, antioxidants and nanotechnology to help recover the look of youthful skin.

Read on for more on the brand, plus we meet the guest, Allison Cooper…

How the company started.
Fujifilm Ltd is the parent behind Astalift and has been at the forefront of photo technology for over 80 years. It is a global organisation covering 140 countries in the world and has diversified into many different areas including beauty with the launch of Astalift.

Astalift was launched in Japan in 2007 where it is now one of the top five premium cosmetic brands. It began when Fujifilm decided that their immense knowledge and expertise in photo technology and the synergies between film manufacturing and photographic print protection were so closely aligned with protecting and caring for human skin.

What makes Astalift different from other skincare brands?
The background of Fujifilm brings a refreshingly new element to traditional beauty. They bring their Japanese heritage and world renowned reputation for research and development, unrivalled expertise in protecting photographic prints from fading in sunlight by using high intensity antioxidants, knowledge of collagen production from over 80 years of making the highest quality marine based collagen for manufacture in film and their Nanotechnology expertise in making particles a billionth of the size smaller to help improve efficiency. This element harnessed in skincare creates a unique product, quite unlike any other brand in the market.

Astalift Jelly AquarystaTheir hero products, and how they're used.
One hero product is the Jelly Aquarysta Rejuvenating Concentrate – already an award-winning product in the UK after just one year! The patented and revolutionary formulation of the Jelly is like nothing else on the market.

It is a bright red jelly, which reconstructs after 90 seconds. It is made with three different types and sizes of collagen, astaxanthin and other antioxidants, plus Vitamin E, and is produced using micronisation to achieve the best absorption level possible.

By coating the ingredient particles so that they don't bind together it therefore sinks into the skin more efficiently taking the active ingredients to the target spots more quickly. You dispense a small amount into the palm of your hand, clasp your other palm over the top to warm the jelly until it emulsifies and then gently spread over the face and neck pressing in with the hand. It should be used twice daily, morning and evening on freshly cleansed skin.

What is Astaxanthin?
This is a highly potent antioxidant, which is produced from natural marine extract sourced from the seabed and cultivated in the Mediterranean. Astaxanthin is part of the diet for macrobiotic marine life, they are then consumed by some animals which gives them their ‘pink’ colour.

Who is this skincare range suitable for?
It's great for all skin types and ages, although it is primarily an anti-ageing range that would be used by women of 40+. The range offers options for various skincare concerns from fine lines and wrinkles to loss of elasticity and pigmentation. Dry and dehydrated skins also benefit significantly from using the Astalift range.

Allison CooperMeet Allison…

Astalift guest presenter Allison has worked in the cosmetic industry for over 20 years. She began as a beauty therapist in spas, moving on to working in management and head of training for some very premium cosmetic brands, she tells us more about Astalift…

With my experience in the beauty industry and products on the market here I feel I really understand what we, as women want from our skincare regime. I love premium skincare and working with a prestigious company like Fuji with their history in research and development was a very exciting opportunity.

With their expert knowledge of collagen production for film, and antioxidants for protecting photographs from fading, they've developed a fantastic skincare range that gives great results.

I've been lucky enough to use high quality skincare throughout my career and really thought my skin was at the best level it could be, but since using Astalift I have to say my skin has totally turned around. It has become softer, smoother and more radiant with a luminous and visibly youthful look.

The textures in this range are like nothing I've ever used before, from comforting oils and crystal clear jelly textures, to rich, smooth creams lightly fragranced with the beautiful scent of damask rose. I feel like I'm enjoying a mini spa treatment at home every time I use them.

Presenter Will Gowing also met up with Allison to chat about Astalift and find out more about their Discovery Collection. Check it out here.

Make sure you tune in for the launch of Astalift on Thursday 12th September.

Hi Ali, I have just watched Will and Allison on the video for Astalift. It looks interesting. Could you give me a price range? Another thing I want to ask you, how do we know if ‘fish collagen’ is in a product we buy or use?
