As Scarlett would say…

Gem Day TSVDo you remember the famous line in one of my all time favourite movies, Gone With The Wind, 'Tomorrow is another day'? Well Scarlett is right, however it's a pretty special day on QVC. It is Gem Day.

Several of you have already noticed the stunning AAAA Tanzanite and diamond ring that I have been wearing over the last week and I can now reveal that it is the Today's Special Value for Gem Day…I think I may have already dropped a few hints!!

It's supposed to be featuring in a new show, with guest Laurie Wickwire, called Special Edition Luxury Gems at 3pm but I am not convinced that it will last that far into the day.

All the pieces in the show will have limited availability and will be commissioned specially, and all will be presented with a full GIA (Gemological Institute of America) report.

We will have African Ruby, Zambian Emerald and Madagascan Pink Sapphire, as well as the most expensive piece of jewellery QVC has ever offered… a strand of Golden South Sea Pearls from the Philippines, which is a one off. It should be a fascinating show to watch as Laurie is an extremely knowledgeable guest.

I also have a second premiere show at 4pm and everything will be a lot more affordable even though I will be showing you diamonds! All the pieces have been made by the same high quality jewellery manufacturers that make our gold diamond pieces, however to keep it more affordable, all of the diamonds in this show will be set in silver.

So, whatever the depth of your pockets, I hope you will join me tomorrow on QVC for some 'real gems'!!!

Much love

Julia xx

Hi Julia, I love that tanzanite ring in your picture, but I would, it’s the same setting of my sapphire and diamond engagment which I’ve had for forty years. If I had to choose an engagment ring now I would choose the same, it just reminds me of really happy memories of the seventies when I was young, slim and darn pretty!!!(that my husband talking not me!!)I hope you received the info on villages that I sent to you? I’m sure you will find somewhere soon. best wishes Yviex

    Hi Julia
Hope you enjoyed the closing ceremony…what a fantastic games, very inspirational to all! What about Andy Murray too…well done to him, at long last eh!
We are now watching the Tour of Britain…Mark Cavendish had a terrible fall on Sunday…when his head hit the floor it reminded me of my fall, at least they wear helmets! He just missed out on Monday, but won yesterday…found myself shouting at the TV again!! It has done alot for cycling this year, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many cyclists about, as I have done lately.
Since the last time we spoke, I have continued with the physio and have been having my neck stretched, literally!! You lie on the couch and they attached a strap round my chin and back of the head and then to a machine, somewhat like a winch (well that’s the noise it makes). It whirs, then stops, then whirs again putting slightly more weight on, which is what it is really. As it gets taughter the strap pushes my cheeks up and I keep saying we’ll have to take a picture, because I must look like a little chipmunk lying there lol!
Laughing apart, it has helped quite alot with my neck movement along with the exercises I’ve been given. However, I have been given some wrist braces to wear at night by the Consultant for pins and needles…they are terrible and seem to make it worse. I woke this morning at 4.00am and slat them across the bed, I will try them again tonight, but it’s a shame that they seem to undo the work the physio has done, because when I have my neck stretched the pins and needles seem to dissipate. Trial and error I suppose!
Had a eureka moment with Gatineau’s Defi Lift 3D face cream. As you know I’ve been a real advocate of Lulu’s Youth Juice. Well one night when I was really tired I cleansed and toned, then without thinking applied Defi Lift minus the youth juice…well I woke up the next morning and my skin was clear, soft and plump, the pores diminished round the nose area and since then I’ve carried on putting Defi LIft on after toning and my skin has never looked better…all from missing out one step of my routine by accident! Sorry youth juice!!
Looking forward to seeing you on air again!
Annette x (sorry it’s sooo long!)

    Hello Yvie,
Yes I did receive the letter you sent with the villages …. thanks so much for taking the time. I liked the look of several of them and have been Zoopla’ing and Rightmoving but nothing I really like the look of has come up yet in my price range. Isn’t street view amazing – I have found a few houses I thought were ‘it’ only to street view and find they are opposite something undesirable!! Saves wasting everyone’s time with a viewing!
I was right about the ring not lasting until my three ‘o’ clock show, but we did have some other knockout pieces. I’m thinking jewellery for Christmas this year, just need to persuade Chris now!
I sometimes feel quite sad when I look back at old pictures. I never thought I was pretty, but when I look at pictures I realize I was and that ageing is not much fun but rather that than going under the knife!
Thanks again for taking the time to write
    much love

    Hi Paula
The house hunting is not going too well at the moment but we are persevering! Pleased that all your health checks are going well. We just don’t realize the importance of good health until something goes wrong despite our best efforts to look after ourselves.
Did you watch the story of the 911 survivor?? Someone was looking out for him that day.
    much love

    Hi Annette
The Paralympic Closing Ceremony was amazing – I love Coldplay, so it was like a Coldplay concert plus!! I have just written my new blog and put up loads of pictures too – hope you will enjoy reading it!
Okay well some progress is being made on your neck – you did make me smile when you were describing the ‘chipmunk’ face!!
It’s funny how we discover things by accident isn’t it? Maybe Youth Juice and Gatineau Defi Lift just don’t mix that well?? I am using the new Elemis Pro Intense Lift Effect – I think I can see a difference, certainly feels nice and smooth.
I hope your wrist braces will start to have a positive effect, if not mention it to your Physio cos there’s no point undoing the good work the traction is doing!
I went swimming today for the first time in two months – felt great. I might even go again tomorrow!
    speak soon
    Julia x
