An updated top 10

Hi all,

So last week I did a Facebook webchat and for an hour I typed as fast as I could, answering all sorts of questions about this that and the other… it was a fun hour and thank you to all those of you who took part. One of the things that came out of the webchat was a request for me to do an updated version of my top 10 QVC products, so here goes. I’m splitting them into 2 categories, 1: home, 2: hair and beauty… starting at 10 a la the charts on a Sunday evening like the good old days.

Morphy Richards iron

I have to say that I have battled the steam generator iron thing for a long time although I can’t say why. I have until now, allowed the ironing pile to keep growing until we are all out of clothes and only then pull out the ironing board. However, now that I have my Morphy Richards steam generator iron, I fly through it all so much faster than ever before so here it is, my Sunday afternoon pal at number 10, the Morphy Richards steam generator (btw some reviews are really not good at all which I find interesting as I love it and it really does do what it sets out to do …just goes to show, don’t always go with what the reviews say, try it out for yourself!)

P 9

Oh my gosh  how I love this stuff!! It’s designed for cars but I use it everywhere in the home that we have glass and metal… coffee table, bathroom mirrors, shower doors, television stand, windows, oven door, fridge freezer door… it’s absolutely wonderful at creating the glossiest and cleanest finish!

Storage Ottoman

I’m so thrilled this came into my life! Now that I have long hair, I own curlers, tongs, hairdryer, brushes and they clutter up the bedroom and drive me mad. Well, that was until this wonderful ottoman came into my life anyway because now they are all stored inside and when I blowdry my hair, I take it all out and sit on the stool to do my hair and then put it all away afterwards. No more clutter, and no more kneeling on my poor knees which aren’t doing so well these days!!!

I bought this a while back and it’s been absolutely wonderful when I need to get some work done either when I’m sitting outside a dance or drama class or just flopped on the sofa… it’s super quick for me to make updates, have a browse, do some work, edit presentations etc etc. It’s a great work pal and the children use it to do their homework too so it’s been a super addition to our technical wardrobe!

Tarte Matte Palette

I have used this soooo much since I got it last year. I think I have had it for at least 6 months now and reckon I have used it pretty much every single day. From the lightest no make-up day to the heaviest glam TV looks, it does it every time! Second in from the right on the bottom is a taupe which is perfect for eyebrows too so it’s really a one stop shop. Top left is a fab neutraliser for a no make-up day as it disappears but takes away any redness with it… then all the other colours are really sophisticated and wearable, there’s not one I don’t’ use!

Sadly we don’t have this in stock at the moment to give you a link but please keep your eyes open as it is truly, in my opinion, the best blush ever! It’s beautifully creamy so you don’t have to worry about highlighters or anything like that, it just gives a glorious flush of colour and freshness to the skin. Again it’s another with iffy reviews but in my opinion, it’s people not using it correctly. From what I’ve read, it seems they are being too heavy with it. You need the smallest amount and then it dries down very quickly. I love it, it’s on my cheeks 99% of the time you see me. And btw I always use a liquid foundation, usually Shiseido, Becca or Doll 10 which it partners perfectly with.

Philip Kingsley

I have been amazed at how quickly my hair has grown, but I have been even more amazed at what I have learned to do with it given the right technique and the right products! I, of course, try lots of different products that we sell on QVC but I have to say that no shampoo and conditioner gives me the fullness of body like this one does.

I so nearly had my hair all cut off when it reached shoulder length as I just couldn’t figure out what to do with it, it was just a moppy mess! But then I went into the Percy and Reed salon and Andrew blowdried it. I had never until this point blowdried my hair, I hadn’t even owned a hairbrush in over 25 years so it was a real surprise to see that, actually, I could have salon bouncy hair too! It took a lot of practice however, I can NOT do it without Wonderbalm, it’s the only product I use in my hair. I don’t use hairspray or mousse, just Wonderbalm. It  gives my hair weight so I don’t get any fly aways and it gives it just the right amount of hold. I find that if I put too much product in, I end up having to wash it more frequently which means styling it with heat and a brush more than I would like to and that will only cause damage. I believe the best way to grow your hair and keep it long and strong is to let it be as natural as possible. The more we muck about with it with loads of heat and styling, the more it will struggle to be what we want it to be.

I’m a stickler for a good cleansing routine! My skin always feels at its best when it’s in a good routine that is Decleor based and I start every day with this cleanser. It never leaves my skin feeling dry or looking red, it just leaves it soft, supple, balanced and ready for the day. In fact I start every day with it and ALWAYS have a back up for when I get to the bottom… that says it all!

Liz Earle

Okay well I have two back-ups on this one and three on the go, I love it THAT MUCH! I get excited about wearing it every time I reach for the bottle. It smells exotic, sophisticated, balanced, unusual, unpredictable, exciting, sexy… it’s a colourful and spicy mix of wonderful and never shouts! It’s utterly perfect; not for everyone, but definitely for me! I have never loved a fragrance like it!!

So there it is, my top 10 QVC products at the moment. Please don’t think that because something wasn’t in my top 10 that I don’t use it or love it, it’s been reeeeeally hard whittling it down to this few but I think it gives a good idea of the ones closest to my heart at least. Thank you to Anne-Marie Mason for requesting the latest faves, I’ve had fun putting this together.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the webchat so we will definitely arrange to do that again sometime soon whether on QVC Facebook page or my own so make sure you are connected with me there or on Twitter @Pipalive so you hear what’s going on for the next one.

In the meantime, I don’t know about you but I’m ready for Spring!!!!

Loads of love as always

Pipa x

Hi, thanks for this Pipa. I love them all, but in the beauty part I’m yet to try the tarte palette so it’s now on my wish list. If the picture with the ottomans is your living room it is gorgeous! You always look so groomed and polished but in a ‘it only took me 5 minutes’ type of way, I wish I could do that. I’m going to start by not brushing my hair so much, ha ha. Looking forward to your next chat. Thanks again for taking the time to do this. x

I purchased 2 on the last TSV geat price and apart from great storage (I fill mine with magazines, hair drier, & NO NO), and I’m looking forward to Easter as I have family coming to visit and they double up as great extra seating. Very good value.
Happy Easter Pippa to you and all your family. Jilly X

Hey Pippa, took your recommendation and tried the Tartlette eye shadow pallet, I have to say that you are right, it is indeed lovely, and the colours not too overpowering. I am a big bare minerals fan normally and feel a bit funny using anything else, but I am sure SJ and Leigh will forgive me!
