An Italian holiday with mum and Ultrasun

Hello there

How are you?  I am just back from Italy where I had a lovely few days with my mum so I thought in this week’s blog I would share a few holiday piccies with you.

Mum and I stayed at a little town called Minori on the Amalfi Coast. Lovely little place and actually staying in a quieter place turned out to be a good idea as it was wonderful to return back there after a busy day out sightseeing.

We were blessed with good weather for most of the trip and we spent our time getting boat trips to various places along the Amalfi Coast including Ravello and Positano, as well as the city of Amalfi itself which was so majestic!

Being in Italy of course the food is out of this world and as well as the usual pizza and pasta and gelato, mum and I also had delicious fish and chicken dishes, many of them cooked with the famous Amalfi lemons, yum!

You can also see a picture of my holiday toiletry bag, I always like sharing what products I take away with me and of course my trusted Ultrasun. Once again I was tanning safely but have come back with a lovely glowing tan!

Highlights of the trip were:

– Having quality time with my mum and in one of the pics you can see us outside the hotel at sunset where we would often have a drink, reflect on the day and enjoy some quiet time together.

craig and mum

– Meeting Jackie Kabler and her husband for a lovely lunch in Positano with a view to die for. We had so much fun and we were saying how lucky we feel having a great place to work where our colleagues become friends.

Craig, mum and Jackie

– Taking in Ravello, the highest town, anywhere on the Amalfi coast. Walking back to the coast it was over 1200 steps down – not easy on the legs but the views made it totally worth it!

Have you been to this part of Italy? Do you have any holiday plans? Leave me a comment below, I’d love to hear from you.

Much love and holiday hugs

Buongiorno Craig, What a super blog, you and your mum obviously had a lovely time. We love Italy, in fact it’s been our annual holiday destination since 2000..! We have been to all the major cities, the Lakes and we love Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. However, four years ago we discovered Sicily and she’s my absolute favourite. My husband was watching a BBC programme about the island and within minutes of it ending had booked our holiday to Taormina. This beautiful hilltop town is sublime and the people are a delight. We know that we’re now truly middle-aged because we’re returning to the same hotel for the third consecutive year. Love from Jo x

      Hi Joanna!

Thanks for your lovely comment. Glad to hear you enjoyed my blog! How amazing that you go yearly! I don’t blame you, it is such a beautiful place!

Oh that’s so funny! You booked a trip straight after watching it on TV. That is the sort of thing I would do!

Well hope you have a wonderful trip this year, and please do pop onto my blog and let me know all about it! Always happy to hear!

      Take care

Great blog as always love to look at your travels!! this partucular blog brought back memories of a school holiday I went on at senior school! We travelled through England, accross on the ferry to France, we took the train through France to our estination in Switzerland. I have a memory of visiting the lakes in Italy (Cant remember where) but it was my first trip abroad!
This was back in the 70’s and cost about £50!! my father worked for the railways and I was elligable for a small discount. I felt very special and a trail blazer back in the day! I remember feeling a little homesick too. It felt like i was on the other side of the world, although it’s very commonplace now to travel. Showing my age a bit!!

Happy days, do you have a memory of your very first holiday?

      HI Jill!

Lovely to hear from you and thanks for your great message! Its lovely to look back on those wonderful memories and you really do have some! How lovely to do all that travelling when you were young :-). Wow! £50! Things are so different now aren’t they?

We didn’t really go very far when we were young, but my Mum and Nan would always take my Sister and I to Mumbles in Swansea (as that is where they are from) every year. We were usually pretty lucky with the weather and we would have a fantastic time on the beach with our buckets and spade!

Thanks and hope to hear from you on my next blog.

      Take care. Craig x
