Amazing hair, my new hair product find and 7 years celebrations

AsleepI hope you're all well and enjoying some sunshine.

It's been a busy time at QVC and in the Franks household.

Scruncher was 7 yesterday and it was cake all round for our gorgeous boy (Angel boy). He is so beautiful in nature and still breaks my heart everyday. Mr B thought it was his birthday too… Well it might well have been as guess who got the cake first!

They're shattered today as they had a long walk on the beach and what a beautiful day it was. Waves crashing in and Mr B chasing each wave as it went out and running away as each wave came in to get him. Scruncher just looks on as if to say why the effort, just enjoy the scenery, they are so different.

My haircare secrets

I've had so many questions on my shiny glossy hair and I have to be honest I have the best colour ever by Aveda and I work hard to keep it in such great condition. I have always had very very fine hair and considering it is washed and blow dried 4 sometimes 5 days a week even I think it keeps fabulously shiny and glossy. I am very fussy on my haircare and who cuts and colours it.

Phillip Kingsley brushMy first change this year was my hair dryer to the EGO hair dryer. I had the travel version and invested in the large one, it's superb!

It drys my hair kindly and quickly and I dry my hair using the Philip Kingsley round barrelled brush. My ritual is very simple but consistent and that's what gives me the shiny, healthy glossy look.

I use Philip Kingsley damage daily defence spray on damp hair before I dry it, I can't do without this as it protects my hair from the heat of the hair dryer. I use Ojon damage reverse shampoo and conditioner when my hair needs repairing and my hair just loves this.

It's one of my rituals and secrets along with their Ojon pot of hair treatment for fine hair. I use this once a week as I love the fact it goes on dry hair, I exercise in it and even sleep in it. The Philip Kingsley Elastisizer is also my weekly ritual if not twice a week. I always get comments when I have been elastisized!! My hair looks and feels so much thicker.

Her haircareMy new find that totally blew me away is John Barrowman's new haircare range, HER. Having fine, flat hair and not loving or ever using any hair styling product apart from my above ritual which treats and cleans my hair, I was so excited to find a range that gave me fabulous volume with no sticky tacky feeling.

I have had more comments than I could possibly ever wish for on my hair. The shampoo is perfect for fine hair as it is lightweight but simply smooth in texture and doesn't foam.

I can have a second great hair day without having to re-wash my hair. The conditioner is the perfect partner, the treatment tricento goes on damp hair and leaves the hair feeling like salon hair. I have added this to my weekly haircare rituals.

HERI get amazing treatment with Ojon's Damage Reverse but amazing volume with HER. It's like creating your own designer haircare collection, I love it. I was sceptical of the volumising powder as I really do not like styling products.

This is so genius, unique and the best creation in haircare I have ever tried. It takes a little playing around with to get what you want but it's worth it. I tap it into my hair on the top and then buff it in with my fingers.

If I want lots of volume I turn my hair upside down and do underneath. Sometimes I will do the layer under my top layer. Clip up the top layer to make it easy and then do the top layer as well. I am loving my new hair wardrobe it's so exciting to create great looks with such incredible products. It's on a 'Try Me' at the moment so the perfect opportunity.

Let me know your styling tips and favourite hair care.

Here's to salon hair at home!

Lots of love,

Jill franks.

dear Jill I often look at your hair and how I wish mine could resemble it in any way, I have naturally curly fine hair which used to be what was called mouse and would now be grey if I didn’t colour it, it is also very dry and usually looks very much like a haystack I do get good results with the products you mention I use a lot of ojon and Philip kingsley I like my hair to be curly as I don’t want to use straighteners every day and I cant seem to make any of the stylists do a style that I like it often turns out like a style that Mrs thatcher used to have and even though I am now 70 I would much prefer it to look more like the model Saffy who is on qvc, I have noticed recently that your hair seems to have more volume maybe its the HER range which I missed, I will try it when there is more in stock. it is lovely to see the photos of your bulldogs they are so sweet we had one of these when I was a child and they are such characters ours used to go on the bus on his own quite often and we would get frantic phone calls to come and get him.

    Hi Jill
Love the pictures of your boys. I too have had bulldogs in the past such gentle dogs with great characters. I now have a Westie, she is my little treasure, she makes waking up in the morning such a pleasure. I may try this hair range, currently I am using Liz Earle and Percy & Reed, which I use alternate washes. My hair is also fine and at times very static, which I am now using Liz Earle hair oil and it has controlled it, better than your hair standing on end.
