We love Amanda Holden’s approach to healthy living – let’s face it, she always looks fabulous!
We caught up to chat about what motivates her and how she makes health her main priority. Are you ready to put down the cake and pick up the juice? (Don’t worry, we’re struggling too!)
Why is healthy living important to you?
All I think about now is being around and full of energy for my children! I think when I was younger I had this attitude too – I was very sporty. I’m a vegetarian and part of a healthy family so that has influenced me a lot in making better choices.
How do you make sure you stay in shape and look after your body?
I’m a firm believer in healthy eating and not dieting. A detox every now and then is great for your body and mindset too, although not all the time. For me, I feel like it clears my mind and is very achievable.
What’s your number one indulgence?
Definitely red or rosé wine, depending on the season. I drink the palest rosé I can find with loads of ice.
What advice would you give for someone looking to make healthier lifestyle choices?
Cut back on naughty stuff every so often. You can still enjoy life but have one less of everything you love every day and fit in more exercise. There are apps for your phone which get you to exercise every day for just ten minutes; we can all make time for that. Also walk whenever you can, it really helps! Food-wise, I try to have a juice for breakfast, not toast, to get the vitamins and minerals in.
What’s your top tip for feeling confident, especially in the summer?
My number one top tip is fake tan… and a big smile!
