Hi everyone, as we come to the end of June and Jewellery Month, I just had to indulge in my favourite bit of sparkle, which of course is Diamonique.
I had the pleasure of an amazing Diamonique Extravaganza show with the lovely Alison O’Reilly on Monday night, and it was brilliant to have the luxury to indulge in three hours of opulence at ridiculously low prices.
I always remember when Debbie Flint and I travelled out to America, over twenty years ago now, to be at the birth of Diamonique! We saw it in its infancy, way before any designs came to air, and were absolutely amazed at what we witnessed, growing in the laboratories, and marveled at just how perfect these glamorous stones were. We knew then that this was the start of something very special.
Unfortunately we did arrive about three hours late, as we did for most of the meetings we went to on that visit! This was before we all discovered Sat Navs, and what with my atrocious map reading and Debbie’s poor left and right skills, we nicknamed ourselves Thelma and Louise – it was a miracle we found our way anywhere!
Back to the sparkle – if you missed the show on Monday, I thought I’d highlight some of the pieces for you and also some of my current Diamonique favourites. There are a lot of new designs around at the moment for the summer season, so it’s definitely worth browsing the website too.
Following on from my circular phase that I’m enjoying in jewellery at the moment, one of my all-time favourites, and a piece I wear all the time, is this Double Circle Pendant.
Set as a circle within a circle, it’s beautifully created with quite small, dainty stones, so it’s very elegant and very real looking.
Now as a lot of you know, I don’t have pierced ears but if you do and you are into the concentric circular look too, then go for this pair, as they have a little edgy feel to them and look stunning on.
Some of the most popular pieces from the recent show were this set of five stacking rings, available in three colour finishes at a great price.
This friendship bracelet has an incredible design and has so many stones – it’s delicious!
However I have to give the last word to a piece which I think epitomises the true essence of Diamonique and if you wanted to treat yourself to a ring that Alison O’ Reilly, with her 20 year history in fine jewellery said would set you back around £60,000 if it were real, take a look at this incredible solitaire ring.
It’s a little higher in price purely because it is set in 9ct gold, but with the 100 facet solitaire stone it’s completely breathtaking, and you can keep your £60,000 in the bank! ( I wish!)
Happy sparkling, Jilly x
