I’m so excited, I thought I’d mention about this weekend’s deals, ahead of my regular update, with pics from the house move etc. which are all below!
Not only are Yankee Candles Today’s Special Value launching tonight (Friday 28th at midnight with me and through Saturday) but we also have an incredible set of two Amazon Fire 7″ wifi tablet with accs on 4 EZ pay on Sunday – and if it lasts, it’ll be in the 11pm show Sunday with me and our IT guest Lee Hohbein.
The Yankee Candle’s are four large jars – yes FOUR for an incredible price of around £10 each! I know!! They are USA specials too… Don’t miss it – it’s going to be hugely popular! In these pretty scents – something for everyone.
And the Amazon Fire deal we last did, sold out early, so this one’s got even more in stock just in case, but at around £100 and available in four Easy Pay instalments it’s going to sell fast this Sunday (30th). There are a couple of present ideas, right there! Plus I’ll have another wonderful Gatineau 20th anniversary show – 11pm Saturday – maybe a one time only bargain too? Join me and the gang!
Weekends at QVC
I’m now going to be on most weekends at QVC – I know I always was, I hear you say! But now I’m going to be spending time at Retreats for You in Devon for the start of nearly every week, I’ll be on air at the end of each week for my four days straight. Suits me fine, I’ve always liked working weekends.
Until such times as I find a man! Haha! Still seriously, you never know, do you? Things might change when I’m down in Sheepwash my new home town, meeting the local gang and getting involved with the community there. I’ll be very keen to see it become a huge success as I help out at the retreats/guest house and will be living nearby. It means I’ll get to do some of our Saturday Night Shows which are always a bit more off the wall and full of fun. I’m either side this week, but I think I’m on next weekend’s one (5/6 Nov)
Moving Part One
So last weekend most of my belongings were transported down to my new home, and have been put in place. But it didn’t all fit on the van! Plus, some of them I didn’t have room for in the place I’ll be staying so they went into the Retreats For You rooms. For instance – this one is of the new look dining room. Can you remember what it was like before? Just a plain wall with five stacked bookcases floor to ceiling. Well Deborah who runs it has gladly given me the go ahead to sort the books out and stack them in some of my pine units now it looks like this!
Secondly there was quite a lot of free space in one of the biggest bedrooms where I’ve placed some of the other bits – now if someone comes they can go in this room if they are lucky – watch the video here
I’m very excited about getting involved and will be spending a lot of time there helping out and hopefully one day next year even setting up a vintage tea rooms. It was hard work as a lot of my stuff needed a good clean and there’s a stack of stuff left still at my rented house which I have until early November, so I’ll be moving the rest over the next few weeks. And the dogs will stay at a pal’s till I take them to Devon end of Nov too. Thanks to those who have been asking where to send a card – you can do so via Retreats for You and they’ll be given to me, or via QVC at –
QVC, Unit 8, Chiswick Park, 566 Chiswick High Road, London W45XU
More about the Devon Shenanigans on my own blog on my website which I’ll be updating over the weekend –click here for more pics and do subscribe to get regular updates – last week’s included the early bird order link for the Liz Earle and the Skechers! This week’s will include the links for the new Dyson TSV and the new Laura Geller one end of next week!
Devon Rush Hour Traffic Jam – version one
Haha! This Dartmoor cow was meandering along, not a care in the world, and no I didn’t ‘beep’ it! It ambled off shortly after this pic but it shows how back to nature it is round there. It was when I popped over for a cuppa with my pal Alix in Belstone.
Version Two – and a delivery fail! If only I’d been vlogging. The delivery guy picked up this huge pallet piled high with slabs of wood and the crane slowly inched across, whilst we all waited in single lane Devon style. Then I noticed a gap appearing between the slabs – as only cellophane was keeping them all together! Well shortly after, it separated, the bottom few came crashing to the floor and were dented. Poor guy was obviously embarrassed and drove off afterwards at top speed! Lol.
Twenty two thousand steps Well what a lot of walking I did! Apparently this, on day one of moving weekend, was the equivalent of around 10k! Well done Debbie and I have to say it was easier and less bunion-stressing, because of wearing my fab Vionics trainers – been wearing them loads during the summer and autumn and bunion not hurting nearly so much! Had a superbly funny show with Keith from Vionics this week too. More from the range of footwear with built-in orthotics here.
Book of the Week – Rowan Coleman’s ‘Lessons in Laughing Out Loud’
The reviews for this one caught my eye and since Rowan is running the retreat I’m going to in March with Julie Cohen I added yet another of Rowan’s books to my audible library. An intriguing situation and a shocking event in the novel tempted me in – see if they do the same to you by clicking here to find out more on my Read it Write it Sell it blog here.
Gabrielle’s Art Show and take a look at this – one of our talented guests, Gabrielle Bradshaw is a clever artist – do you remember her on Tony Hart shows? Well she has a new exhibition running till January in
London folks– do go along! And ask her more via twitter on @gabrielle_tv
Watch – Tutankhamun
Seems like whilst everyone else is talking about ‘Bake Off’ or ‘Strictly’ or ‘Poldark’, none of which I’ve been able to keep up with, I’m recommending one of my pet subjects – the new ITV series on King Tut of ancient Egypt’s tomb being discovered about a hundred years ago by Howard Carter and Earl Carnaervon. Seems a great way to prep the period too, since I’m writing about the 1920s in my new book. Enjoyed the first ep – got to catch up now on the others!
Blooper –many years ago when I worked at QVC and was very tired, I did this – and considering this week’s ‘Watch’ I thought I’d post it again as this week’s blooper! Lol.
Tart-en-khuman indeed! Lol
Facebook Funny – Hehe!
Well actually I don’t wish I was 20, or any other younger age actually. Every stage of my life has been better than the last , even if the odd single year has on its own been ‘horribilis!’ If I had to choose and it couldn’t be this year, though, I’d go to 1991 just before my dad got ill and spend time with him again but for my own life it’s now, for sure. What do you think?
This week on QVC –
- Saturday – Yankee candles TSV as above!
- And also on Saturday, Lee Hohbein waxes lyrical about the amazing new speaker for the home that’s voice controlled and is like Siri on steroids.
He will be presenting the Amazon ‘Echo’ and its sister app ‘Alexa’ on Saturday and Sunday – whilst stocks last – you speak and it can respond and do stuff.
Here are some of the things you can say, assuming you’ve set it and the app up right –
- “Alexa, play Ed Sheeran from Spotify’
- “Alexa, turn it up”
- “Alexa, play Jazz Radio from TuneIn”
- Alexa, wake me at 7 in the morning”
- “Alexa, what’s on my calendar today?”
- “Alexa, what’s the weather in London?”
- “Alexa, read my Audiobook” And if my memory serves me right, when I went to my pal LJ’s, she told it to turn the lights on or the heating on or some such – typical LJ already being up on the whole ‘internet of things’ concept! Looking forward to Lee’s presentation on QVC.
Princess Grace Collection– Yes at last this beautiful range of simulated jewellery inspired by Princess Grace of Monaco’s collection, comes to QVC.
Join me on Saturday at 9pm for items like the Majorcan Pearl Wedding Gift– and get the sneaky peek by going here to our website to peruse at your leisure prior to the shows.
Sunday – Amazon Fire twin pack of tablets TSV around £100!
