I'm a little later in the day than planned writing this blog. I've just spent the last hour and a half trying to find my iPad! I say my iPad, it's actually QVC's iPad and I was really beginning to panic! I'd convinced myself I'd left it on the roof of my car and either driven off or had it stolen!
I was just on the verge of phoning work, to confess, when I found it. Perched on my son's desk in his bedroom. Phew! He hadn't borrowed it, I'd left it there earlier in the day. It reminded me of an incident several years ago when I left my mobile phone on the roof of a taxi after a days filming on an industrial estate. I went back to the location hours later to find it in pieces on the tarmac. Thankfully the SIM card was intact.
It's been a fun filled week at both QVC and home with Dad having spent a few days with us. Catching up with Will and Charlie and the Charlie Bears Today's Special Value was really great. They've become firm friends over the years – it's amazing to think they've just celebrated 7 years with us.
I think Dad may be a little relieved to be back home now on the Isle of Wight. Our two cairns, Misty and Bramble, adore him and Misty found the perfect place to rest her sleepy head! Dad adores the puppies (who, by the way, are about to celebrate their 1st birthday) but his affection wavered a little the following day!
Dad's an avid reader and is rarely seen without a book in his hand. Well, in hindsight, the book should never have left his hand. Misty made light work of Dad's thriller….. He saw the funny side….. eventually. After all, Dad was once the owner of the most mischievous dog in the world – Molly our darling English Setter. We could write a book on all the tricks and naughtiness she got up to… including the time she stole, ate and relished all the bait from an anglers bucket!
I've a few days off now and am busy sorting the garden, walking the dogs and catching up on some TV (I'm loving Storage Hunters… have you ever caught an episode?)
I'm back at QVC with Destination Gems on Tuesday evening at 8pm. Remember it's not too late to enter our competition to win this loose Rose de France Amethyst. Just tweet me a picture of you wearing a piece of QVC jewellery. My Twitter address is @mecharliebrook. You can enter by post as well, click here to find out more.
Also, join me if you can by staying up late Wednesday 25th at midnight, when I launch our practical presenters Today's Special Value!
Ok, time to put the iPad away safely, pop the dogs to bed and catch some sleep!
Take care and see you soon.
