Isn’t it lovely to see a hint of spring finally creeping into our days? That gradual lengthening of daylight hours, that touch of warmth in the air… fabulous! I had the delight of enjoying a taste of springtime in Paris since my last blog, when we took my father-in-law Joe there to celebrate his 90th birthday.
He’s an incredible man – he is Hungarian, but has lived in the UK for decades, and still drives, plays golf, speaks four languages and enjoys life to the full. My husband had organised a fantastic two days for his dad (my sister-in-law and her partner also joined us) – highlights were a Champagne boat trip on the Seine (pictured below left) and lunch in the restaurant halfway up the Eiffel Tower. Joe thoroughly enjoyed it… wonder what we’ll do for his 100th?
Workwise, Richard Jackson our gardening expert and I, along with Will Gowing our social media presenter, are going to make history later this month (on Monday 23rd March) with a very special gardening show. I’m not going to say any more right now but all will be revealed in my next blog later this week…stand by!
Now, here is number three in my little series of behind the scenes videos. Today I’m fulfilling a few requests – some of you asked to see the outside of the building, our reception area and where the guests hang out between shows, so that’s what I’ve done. I had an unexpected visitor sneaking into my last blog video in the shape of my naughty presenter friend Chloe Everton, so let’s hope she’s stayed out of this one…
