A very pink blog

Well hello, my lovelies! What a busy old week or two it’s been! You’re probably sick of the sight of me by now as I’ve been covering a few shifts at work for poorly presenters hence the tardiness of this week’s blog. Hopefully not, though, and my apologies for not getting this out on Wednesday.

This week’s blog has a totally pink theme. So where shall I begin…I think Antthony Mark Hankins’ pink suit is so divine I’ll mention that first! His collection, Antthony Designs, is fabulously easy to wear and so flattering. I love that he uses exciting prints and colours. We shared a lovely hour together earlier in the week and I fell in love with these trousers. So did everyone watching as they sold out! But I told Antthony that I want his suit because that caught my eye most of all, ha ha! Isn’t it gorgeous? Right down to his pink trainers. I find pink such an uplifting shade. Look out for his shows as his clothes are great but so is he and I’m sure you’ll find yourself tuning in to see what he’s wearing as much as you will for his collection. He’s such a sweetheart with lots of talent and style.

Next, how about a Today’s Special Value from SBC to make you feel tickled pink? Ok then, here it is! Coming your way on the 15th May is a four piece collection you won’t want to miss. Especially if, like me, you loooove fruity fragrance. I adore coconut anything and, as for watermelon, I’m practically dancing around my lounge with excitement over it!

Not only is this going to be the launch of the utterly delicious smelling Refreshing Watermelon fragrance but they are treating us to a supersize of the new shower, bath and shampoo! A whole litre of scrumptiousness! On top of that we get the same fragrance in the complimenting skincare gel. Then there’s more skin quenching and beautifying in the Coconut and Plumeria shower melt and, finally, the accompanying shimmer skincare gel.

All in all, a fabulous burst of tropical summertime in your bathroom for a brilliant price that I can’t yet reveal to you but keep looking out for it ahead of the launch as we may get to spill the beans before much longer.

I have also been lucky enough to try another of their new products and I’m blown away by it! Cucumber micellar gel cleanser. Woweeee! It’s so gentle, soothing and super effective! If you’ve been using wipes then I urge you to give this a try as it’s just as quick but better for you and the environment. Plus, it’s 100% vegan. A big bonus for me.

Many of you know about my forthcoming overnight walking marathon in aid of Walk The Walk who fund breast cancer charities. It’s coming up this Saturday night! I’m excited as well as slightly nervous! Around 15000 of us will be walking the streets of London in our bras to support the cause which you may know as the ‘moonwalk’.

My best girl friend, Mandy, sadly lost her mother to breast cancer when she was just seventeen. She suggested we take part as her sister, Gel, had already decided to join her friend, Debbie, who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. I’m sure there will be a mix of emotions on the night but there will be lots to smile about as there will be energy and excitement in the air. There’s a disco theme so we will be sparkling our way through the night.

Mandy and I decided to go for a good, long walk the other week as part of our training. We didn’t plan very well and ended up taking a VERY scenic route which doubled our time! We did around 24-25 miles! We left our respective homes at 6am and arrived at our destination, Brighton Pier, around 6pm!! It wasn’t easy terrain, either. If you’re familiar with Ditchling Beacon you’ll know what I’m talking about. Quite a few climbs, twists and turns.

It was a thoroughly beautiful day, though, and gave us confidence we will be able to cope on the night itself! I’ll let you know how it goes in a future blog!

Finally, I simply must tell you about next Friday’s (17th May) Today’s Special Value from fashion designer, Ben De Lisi. Ok, so we’re talking about more colours here and not just pink. In fact, there’s a choice of five different options from stripes and dots to softer prints. It’s a fully lined, stretch jersey dress in a very flattering midi length to suit everyone. It also has a lovely tie waist to give a beautiful silhouette. Ben is all about great quality and enduring design. His clothes are distinctly striking yet wearable. This will be his first ever Today’s Special Value with us so expect something extra special.

Well, thank you for taking the time to read. You’ll never know just how much I appreciate that you do. With all the different social media channels I have on the go it does become increasingly hard to find time to reply to every comment on all the platforms but, trust me, I always read your messages and can’t thank you enough for being a part of this blog.

Lots of love,

Catherine xx

Loved reading your blog. I too love the colour pink, but also purple, blue and green. Basically, I just love colour! You should see the range of akipling bags I have – colour galore! Well done on the walk and I hope it went well on Saturday. Such an excellent cause.

Hi Catherine, 25 miles! You may as well have done the marathon! Wow! You and Jackie are fit girls! Congratulations.
Don’t worry about comments. It’s so excessive now with all the social media platforms as you say and you wonder what it’s doing to young minds and confidence. Creating an emotionally needy generation who look for praise a lot I think.
    Love susan x
