Apologies for not writing a blog for the last two weeks but I wanted to have a time of complete relaxation with my family although we weren’t actually all on holiday at the same time, neither was I away in Spain for my entire absence.
We actually flew out on my birthday after I’d already had a week at home sorting out ‘stuff’! We booked an early flight so that we would be at the villa we rent in time to watch the Scotland v England qualifier – football rules in our house. In some respects a draw was the best outcome as my sister has lived in Scotland for forty-five years and is an avid Scotland (and Celtic) fan… at least we are still speaking!!
In the half-time, I opened my birthday cards and presents, one of which is the wireless keypad I am using to type this blog on my iPad – who’s a technophobe now then???
I also had a kit to discover my ancestry – I’ve always been told I have gypsy blood in me so I guess now I’ll find out. After the game we had dinner out, which we did most nights and here’s one of the lovely beachfront locations.
Although my birthday was a little different from usual it was still great and thank you for the hundreds of messages and images on Facebook – I eventually managed to read and ‘like’ them all, but it took me about three days!
That’s one of the worst things about holidays, leaving behind beloved family pets, not that Wilfie seemed to be missing me as much as I was him judging by this photo when Chris got home after his part of the holiday. Mind you, he has been very needy since we all got back.
We did have some animals (well birds really) to look out for though. Once again the house martins were feeding their babies in the nests attached to the villa we stay in. Unfortunately, one of the adults actually flew in through the open window one morning and couldn’t find its way out. I threw Sophie’s lightweight cardigan over it and gently picked it up to release back into the wild – luckily not releasing the cardie at the same time.
I didn’t do any writing on holiday this time but I did quite a lot of reading both on kindle and actual books. Just a reminder my latest book is out in paperback next Tuesday – check www.juliarobertsauthor.com for more information.
So having had plenty of time off I’m with you a lot over the next few days. This weekend I have Becca, Kipling, MarlaWynne, Betty & Co and Sealy (which is the TSV on Sunday if you’re in the market for a new bed). I’ve been trying to avoid Ali Young because of my deep suntan but she caught up with me today… I blamed the Ultrasun 30 with the tan accelerator which is on air tonight if you want to try it. Also if you spend £100 on beauty products before the end of June you’ll get £10 of QVC credit – check out the details on QVCUK.com.
Must dash now as it’s time to say goodbye to our Presenter Manager Paul who I’ve worked with for over 20 years.
Have a great weekend
Love Julia xx
