A Tantastic Holiday

Apologies for not writing a blog for the last two weeks but I wanted to have a time of complete relaxation with my family although we weren’t actually all on holiday at the same time, neither was I away in Spain for my entire absence.

We actually flew out on my birthday after I’d already had a week at home sorting out ‘stuff’! We booked an early flight so that we would be at the villa we rent in time to watch the Scotland v England qualifier – football rules in our house. In some respects a draw was the best outcome as my sister has lived in Scotland for forty-five years and is an avid Scotland (and Celtic) fan… at least we are still speaking!!

In the half-time, I opened my birthday cards and presents, one of which is the wireless keypad I am using to type this blog on my iPad – who’s a technophobe now then???

I also had a kit to discover my ancestry – I’ve always been told I have gypsy blood in me so I guess now I’ll find out. After the game we had dinner out, which we did most nights and here’s one of the lovely beachfront locations.

Although my birthday was a little different from usual it was still great and thank you for the hundreds of messages and images on Facebook – I eventually managed to read and ‘like’ them all, but it took me about three days!

That’s one of the worst things about holidays, leaving behind beloved family pets, not that Wilfie seemed to be missing me as much as I was him judging by this photo when Chris got home after his part of the holiday. Mind you, he has been very needy since we all got back.

We did have some animals (well birds really) to look out for though. Once again the house martins were feeding their babies in the nests attached to the villa we stay in. Unfortunately, one of the adults actually flew in through the open window one morning and couldn’t find its way out. I threw Sophie’s lightweight cardigan over it and gently picked it up to release back into the wild – luckily not releasing the cardie at the same time.

I didn’t do any writing on holiday this time but I did quite a lot of reading both on kindle and actual books. Just a reminder my latest book is out in paperback next Tuesday – check www.juliarobertsauthor.com for more information.

So having had plenty of time off I’m with you a lot over the next few days. This weekend I have Becca, Kipling, MarlaWynne, Betty & Co and Sealy (which is the TSV on Sunday if you’re in the market for a new bed). I’ve been trying to avoid Ali Young because of my deep suntan but she caught up with me today… I blamed the Ultrasun 30 with the tan accelerator which is on air tonight if you want to try it. Also if you spend £100 on beauty products before the end of June you’ll get £10 of QVC credit – check out the details on QVCUK.com.

Must dash now as it’s time to say goodbye to our Presenter Manager Paul who I’ve worked with for over 20 years.

Have a great weekend

Love Julia xx

hi Julia, looks like you had a great holiday! Your tan is intense and good looking on you! The orange dress yesterday looked great on your tan and you probably enjoyed a great time, not writing, not presenting on QVC. I’m sure you enjoyed the Spanish tapas and sangria too ;-)! That’s what we do there at least. Hugs, Jenny x

      Hi Jenny
Sorry I’m only just getting around to replying to you – my holiday now feels like a distant memory but it was good while it lasted!
I do love a bit of orange with a tan!
We enjoyed tapas a couple of times (I’m veggie so not so many options for me) but I was on the Rose wine in preference to sangria

Hi Julia, hope you had a great birthday!! Looks like you enjoyed your stay in Spain, what a nice tan!! Did you already get used to the British cuisine instead of tapas? 😉 x

      Hi Jens
Sorry to be so late replying to you – my birthday was enjoyable but would have been better if England had won the footie!!!!!
To be honest, I cook quite a lot of Italian so still enjoying the Mediterranean cuisine just a different country!

Looks like a fabulous holiday. I’ve just ordered the Ultrasun too, so hoping for a good tan! Is the Ancestry kit the one that tests the DNA? I’ve been wanting to try it. Hope you feel better after your break.

      Hi Wendy
I hope the Ultrasun is as successful in helping you get a nice tan as it was for me.
Yes, the Ancestry kit is the one that tests your DNA – I haven’t done it yet though as my feet have barely touched the ground since I’ve been back from Spain.

Julia, you good anyway, but since your return with your dark tan, you look great and as for your figure…head turningly stunning, one very envious lady here!! I must admit I’ve never tried any fast tanning lotion before, but judging from your results I may order the Ultrasun 30 with tan accelerator for my holiday to Greece. Take care. Gina.

      Hi Gina
Apologies for the delay in responding to you. Thanks so much for your lovely comments – really kind of you.
I hope you managed to get the Ultrasun 30 with tan accelerator – I tanned so quickly I was able to spend less time sitting in the sun & sat in the shade reading instead!

Hi Julia have just been watching you doing the Bodyblade, do you use this yourself at home, as you do look fit and toned. if so with toning up your arms does it make them bigger like some exercise , as I want to tone up but not bulk up ?
    Thank you Lynn

      Hi Lynn
I sometimes use the Bodyblade but more often my aeropilates machine and swimming.
Unless you are using heavy weights you won’t bulk up on your arms, just tone up. Give it a go with your money back guarantee to see if you like it.
One of the best things is that it is quite a quick workout but still delivers toning results.
Let me know how you get on if you try it

This is the first time I have actually looked at anyone’s blog and that is only because your apology caught my eye. I have to highly commend you for taking time out to totally relax in the company of your family….. well deserved and good for you!

As wonderful as QVC and all the presenters are it somewhat bemuses me as to why Joe Public have the urge to know what is going on in the private lives and thoughts of people they do not actually know on a one to one.

Yes, we may feel we know presenters as we regularly see their image and hear their voices but the reality is, we don’t know them at all. Do we eat, drink or meet up for nights out or nights in? If not then why throw open the window of one’s private life to strangers.

All that said, QVC is shopping channel second to none and I believe that is accredited not only to the products but to the professionalism of their presenters.

      Hi Amanda
I’m glad you stopped by my blog. We live in a funny old world don’t we where we share so much on social media.
I can only speak for myself, but I don’t mind giving a peak into my private life for those who find it interesting. Trust me, there is plenty I don’t share!
So pleased to hear that you are a fan of QVC’s products and presenters and do stop by again some time
      Julia x
