If you didn’t get the chance to see my last post then it’s official – hubby and I are house hunting in Birmingham. Our current property is on the market and we’re looking for a new home. A huge thank you to everyone who posted house-hunting tips for me on my last post about April Aspirations, they were really useful.
If you’ve learned something from moving home and you want to pass those on, keep those comments coming because they’re invaluable. So I’m wondering if it will be May Madness next month, with a flurry of viewings and buyers interested in our place? I pray for it all to fall into place. And I’ll keep you posted every step of the way.
PS) can you spot my Peony phalaenopsis orchid and my storage ottoman in my living room?
Away from searching for a new home, I’ve been asked to visit a brewery up in Aberdeenshire (a long way to go) – they’re an interesting bunch. They make tasty beers, and are definitely the anarchists of the beer world right now. It will be interesting to see what it’s all about and get a better feel for the company. Speaking of beer, I was invited along to my old stomping ground last week, BBC Radio WM.
Ten years ago I was a reporter and a newsreader there, plus I presented a show of my own each week. This time around I did a beer tasting live on air with the presenter, Richie Anderson and three fellow female guests who were stars of a forthcoming amateur production of Crazy For You that’s on this week at the Dormston Mill Theatre in Sedgeley (http://www.thedormstoncentre.co.uk/production/crazy). I took along three beers brewed locally to where I live – all very delicious and real faves of mine. Worth a try if you can track them down online.
Fix my damaged nails
My nails are damaged. Badly damaged. Leighton Denny told me as much as, to my face last week. when he painted my nails for the Meet the Beauty Experts show on Friday morning. The truth hurts. So thank goodness for our Perfect Nails Gel Formula TSV this Thursday (It’ll be on the Morning Show and with me at 12 noon on St Georges Day, Thurs 23rd April).
I’ve been using the strengthening colours for about a week because my nails are weak and they tear like crazy. Instantly, after one coat of the pink gel my edges stopped bending. And I’m really happy with this summery red Shimmering Sand colour – the colour is fabulous and it’s reassuring to know that there’s a built-in protective benefit too.
Make sure you watch Ruth Frances and I take you through the set – five bottles of colour at a great price to help you on the way to healthier nails! 12 noon on Thursday in my Confessions of a Beauty Addict show
Happy birthday, Ma’am
It’s the Queen’s birthday this week, 89! Can you believe it? So I thought I’d repost a video I made when I took Mummy Cole to see her in Birmingha. Guess whose big mouth you can hear – it was so exciting I was overwhelmed!
