Although I haven't been on air much so far this week, I have been very busy at home. It was my Mum's 86th birthday on Monday so we invited her down for a visit. She's been having a few problems getting up and down stairs so we moved a bed downstairs into the garden room and put the sofa, which is normally in there, outside in the garden. Sophie had checked the weather forecast, and as a result we covered it in plastic – just as well really as we have had yet more rain this week!
Chris went up Nottingham to fetch Mum on Sunday while I did a manic clean up, picked some flowers from the garden and baked a birthday cake and some chocolate chunk cookies. It was lovely to have her here for her birthday and I think she enjoyed herself.
We took her to Richmond Park as I has told her about the deer running free. I sometimes drive through the park on my way home from work and there are usually forty or fifty deer right by the roadside… not when we drove through with Mum! We caught a fleeting glimpse of three or four in the distance – I'm not even sure if she saw them! We also watched 'The Marigold Hotel' film one evening, as she had been bought it for a birthday present. I loved the film particularly as it was set in India where my late Dad spent his childhood.
Mum has gone home this morning and I have been moving furniture, cleaning and baking again as Chris is picking his mum up from Lincolnshire on his way back from Nottingham… it's like Piccadilly Circus here at the moment!
I need to leave for work in approximately ten minutes so I had better run. Today I am missing Simon Wilson but I was with him last night and I hope you enjoyed the show. We are back together on Sunday at 8pm to celebrate the 12th Anniversary of Butler & Wilson World as part of our Fashion Day. If you love Ronni Nicole, you might want to stay up late on Saturday night particularly if you like dresses with sleeves.
A busy weekend ahead on QVC and the start of the new 'footie' season, let's hope it's a good one on both counts!!
Much love, Julia xx
