A quickie!

Can you help me? Pleeeeeease! I was presented with these five pictures taken by Maddie and Joe from our lovely escape to Aldeburgh, which is one of our most favourite places – “pick a winner Mummy!” they gaily said.

Oooooh a loaded question and to be fair quite tricky, particularly given the quality of their artistic endeavours, coupled with the fact that Maddie is a terrible loser… so I thought I would stay as ‘lovely’ Mummy and give YOU the task of selecting my winner!!

We had a flying visit to Aldeburgh in Suffolk and enjoyed the wonderful weather that surprised us on Friday – a real treat (and that included the chip butty! Devoured and appreciated and washed down with Adnams Copper House gin and tonic). It’s a place which I always feel is so good for my soul. We marvel at the prices of petite bijoux places in this lovely area and wonder if we will ever realise our dream to own something there ourselves!

It was so lovely to be on air with Richard Jackson this morning, he is a truly lovely man you know. I thought his diary that he has created for QVC was beautiful – word of warning though, it was selling supremely fast. It has stunning photography in it as well as a wealth of jobs for each month in the garden, alongside the diary bit of course.

Actually I could have offered Richard my photographs, particularly as I think his front cover looks rather like my peonies in my garden – here you go Richard, for your 2017 Diary perhaps?!

It made me smile actually, as I had just bought my new diary on Wednesday as I get to a stage where I feel overwhelmed by all the to- ings and fro- ings I have scrawled in my diary and so purchase a new clean fresh one, in the vain hope it will help me feel calmer and more in control!!

I took Tom and a friend swimming, so settled down happily to transfer dates into it whilst I watched them. The important dates went in for 2016 and I was feeling marvellous until I realised much later that I had popped the bag with the new diary in onto the hook, on the door of the ladies loo and … promptly left it there!

Luckily I had gotten round to filling in the contact details and given Dan as my contact, so he was called and deduced his wife must indeed be the owner of the diary. Lucky I had left it at the swimming baths and not sneaked off to some glamorous destination whilst he worked!!

So, my diary will be returned to me this week and hopefully order will resume!

I’m just going to leave you with a picture of my spectacular new lantern that was bought for me by my special friend Ali (Miss Keenan, or should we say Mrs!) I was loving this during my show with Alison Cork when Ali popped on set to say she had ordered it for me!

I was thrilled and even more so when she said it was a present! I popped it immediately in my bathroom/dressing room and added some more of my flameless candles – it’s just perfect.

LanternBathroom Bedroom

Beach sceneAs it is in my bathroom I thought I would share with you my bedroom and bathroom, as they’re finally done now and gives me great pleasure, and helps my tidiness as all my clothes are hidden behind the metallic snake print covered doors. Oh and you’ll spy a wonderful picture that Dan and I love of the very beach that the children were photographing this week!

All it needs is Donna Summer singing and it’s my perfect 70s boudoir!

So back to Maddie’s and Joe’s artistic endeavours – which of the pictures ‘speaks to you’? Let me know would you all!

Much love,

Claire xx

Picture 2 – the close-up of the pebbles look in focus and relaxing to look at.

Hi Claire! They’re all fabby pictures, but the one that grabs me is the slopey sand picture with shadows! 🙂

I like stone snake best because it is the most evenly balanced of the images. However, they are all nice pictures so maybe a nice montage is the best option!

    Hi Claire,
The picture of the sloping sand with the silhouettes is lovely, but the comment of having them all as a montage is a really good idea and then everyone is happy as all the pictures are great and each picture has captured different moods, for everyone to relate to.
    Love Jacqui XXXX

Hello Claire, so nice you enjoyed your little break by the sea and all the photos are lovely, but I liked number three with the gorgeous blue sky – made me think of the song “Bloo-oo Sky ….. “. Well done Maddie and Joe :o) Love Penelope x

Hi Claire, all the photos were lovely, so it’s a difficult pick. However if I was really pushed I would have to go with the third one down with the couples silhouette.
    Hope this helps!

Hi Claire love the pebbles the best but overall they are all lovely pics hard to choose. Aldeburgh is the most special place. We are lucky enough to live about an hour away and I find it the most special place good for the soul as you say. You have inspired me for another long overdue visit this weekend, whatever the weather. Mandy x
