Hello,
Since my last blog, hubby and I have had a rather lovely three-day trip to Norway. We don’t tend to take summer holidays at all, so we like to get away at this time of year, and while we’ve been to other parts of Scandinavia, Norway was still on the list. So we flew to Bergen for a long weekend, and it was fabulous. Such a pretty city with its multi-coloured houses along the old wharf, Mount Floyen looming overhead and the spectacular fjords within touching distance!
The fjords were the highlight of the trip actually – we went on a three-hour boat tour which was just wonderful (it was also freezing cold, but my Dennis Basso “teddy bear” coat kept me snuggly warm, thankfully!). We also went to all four of the Kode art museums where we saw everything from modern works by Norwegian artists to collections of Picasso and Munch masterpieces. And we took the funicular up the mountain, to see the amazing views from the top – unfortunately it was a grey misty day so they were a little less amazing than we’d hoped for! I loved Bergen but oooof, it’s pricey! My presenter pal Simon Biagi, whose wife is Norwegian, warned me about how expensive everything was and he wasn’t wrong! Still, it was just for three days and we had a lovely time.
I could have done with the upcoming Today’s Special Value offer from British fashion brand Joules to keep me warm on the trip. Available to buy now, it will actually air on Thursday 24th (in fact I’ll be launching it at midnight on Wednesday) and it’s one of their cosy Seaham textured Breton striped jumpers. In sizes 8-20, it comes in four colour options all created just for QVC, and if you’re familiar with Joules, it’s exactly the same fit and shape as their classic Harbour top. The super-soft yarn is gentle against the skin so it’s really comfortable to wear and will take you through to spring. Perfect with jeans!
That’s it for now, speak soon.
Love Jackie x
