A nice time in Nice

Hope you are well! I am really good. I have just come back from Nice where I had a wonderful time!

I went there with my beloved mum, as we try and go away a few days together each year. I think it’s time we both really cherish.

Mum arrived in London on the Monday. She hadn’t seen my flat or the area I live in since I moved there so it was wonderful to show her the flat and discuss my ‘makeover’ plans for it, as well as introducing her to SE1! We went for a walk along the Southbank, had drinks and nibbles at the OXO Tower, then had dinner at a great place called Tanner & Co on Bermondsey Street. I really recommend it if you are ever in the London Bridge area. Justine (from QVC) and my friend Emma joined us too which was great fun.

The following morning we headed off to Nice and had a great five days there. The weather was wall-to-wall sunshine with the temperature peaking at 35 degrees some days. We stayed a gorgeous little independent hotel I found on the net, and spent lots of time exploring the French Rivera. We went from Pirates Beach Club in Juan-les-Pins and breakfast in Villefranche-sur-mer, to cocktails at the world famous Negresco hotel and a picnic on Plage du Midi in Cannes.

It turned out I was a fashion icon too! I took a hat I have had for years but never really wear and the whole of nice was walking round in them!! Glen Campbell would be proud of me!! 🙂

It was a very special few days and after everything my mum has done for me and all the support shes given me over the years, I feel blessed to be able to have this time with her and spoil her a little.

Hope you like the photos – I think they give you a real flavour of our time away. You will also see pics of my holiday essentials: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and Face & Body Wash (LOVE THIS!), Josie Maran Argan Oil to boost my aftersun moisturising, and of course the all-important Ultrasun in my preferred formula, the Family 30.

You will also see a pic of my mum’s nails – she has been using Perfect Formula with incredible results. After years of biting them they are now strong, healthy and beautiful – she is so happy I suggested she try it.

Finally, what do you think of my packing skills? It’s not so much me, it’s these cool packs called Zpacs. They’re coming to QVC soon and were designed by Gemma Jensen, the inventor of the J Pillow. Can you believe how they helped me turn chaos into a beautifully packed bag!? And I used the J Pillow on the flight too – makes it so much more comfortable!

Have you ever been to the French Rivera? Have you been away this year? Would love to know your plans!

Please post a comment below and I will see you back on QVC this weekend for Diamonique, Kipling and plenty of gardening goodies. I LOVE my job!!

Big hugs,

I use a similar system to the zpacs and find them invaluable. My husband and I love to do road trips in the US and this year in May we visited Palm Springs, Sedona, Phoenix, Santa Fe, Tucson and Tombstone. The packs made such a difference as the only one that came out of the case on our stops was the toiletry bag to go in the bathroom. There was no unpacking and packing , everything else stayed in the case nicely organised. It was worn, washed and put back in. I can highly recommend the concept.

Hope you have many more lovely holidays with your Mum. See you on Qv on the weekend.

Thank you for sharing your holiday photos – it looks like you all had a lovely time.

Your mum’s nails look great. Perfect Formula is the only thing ever to have worked for me. Since QVC brought it on board I’ve worn it every day alone or under my gorgeous Nails Inc colours. Big thanks to the team for bringing both to me.

Love the zpacs – I need them in my house as well as my suitcase!!

See you at the weekend. Will definitely be with you for Kipling. X

Craig, the way you treat your mum is spectacular! Your Nice trip sounds brilliant. We’re not going away this year, have decided to give our bathroom a much needed makeover instead, but will bear Nice in mind for future years. Looking forward to Kipling on QVC this weekend. You can never have too much.
