Hopefully you have had a great start to the New Year. I’ve been lucky enough to have presented some incredible shows recently that have been perfect for evaluating a number of things as we head on in to 2018.
Now I’m not a great believer in New Year’s resolutions and if the truth be known I haven’t actually made any at all for the last couple of years. I think that’s because most of us tend to set unrealistic goals and are then far too hard on ourselves when we don’t achieve them, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t things in life I would like to change or improve on. So although January is a good time to take stock I think we all do need a helping hand to make small, easily achievable tweaks in life that could have a much bigger impact on how we live our lives over the coming weeks and months and year ahead.
When it comes to a helping hand, QVC really is there every step of the way and one of the shows recently that really got me thinking was my launch with the Speakmans. Nik and Eva Speakman have worked in the psychology field for over 20 years and have developed their own unique approach to leading a positive life. They have developed a programme entitled The Key which consists of a book and DVD, only available through QVC. The Key guides you through 12 keys or schemers, as Nik and Eva refer to them, dedicated to upgrading your life.
I think if there are any aspects of your life that you are unhappy with be it family, relationships, career or even self-esteem issues, it is definitely worth watching the DVD and working through the book, which will amazingly help you to see things much more clearly and most probably from a totally different viewpoint. Of course one of the things will all go crazy about in the New Year is exercise, but if you are anything like me the novelty of a new gym membership or the latest fitness class soon wears off.
Take a look at our fitness equipment section online
QVC fitness has everything available from exercise bikes, cross trainers and rowing machines to free weights and Pilates. Two of my favourites are the Body Blade which has become an iconic piece of highly effective exercise equipment over the last 20 years at QVC (try the super 6 minute workout) alongside the Wondercore, which although works the whole body is incredible for the tummy and of course with your 30-day money back guarantee you can see if the piece of equipment is going to suit your lifestyle.
While we are on the subject of exercising I have to say I’ve become somewhat addicted to my new best friend, the Fitbit. I never thought it would be something I would like, but having researched it when we launched it as our TSV recently, I’m now totally hooked.
I do believe that knowledge is power and the insight that the Fitbit HR gives you into how you move and sleep along with your heart rate is just so invaluable. Actually, the best exercise I have found so far for increasing your step count is a tap class! The Fitbit app is also quite motivating too with various alerts you can set to help achieve your goals but it’s strange how the small changes, like taking the stairs at work instead of the lift for example, can have a big impact on your step count at the end of the week. Also, when you reach a new goal you can always treat yourself.
In fact Ruth Langsford will be with us all day on Saturday with a fabulous fitting pair of jeans at an incredible Today’s Special Value price so that’s a fantastic motivating reason to reach a goal and reward yourself!
So although January is a good time to make changes, I think we can all make small lifestyle changes for the better at any time and certainly if there is something that you wish to explore. Whether it’s self-motivation, exercise a new beauty routine or even getting a better night’s sleep in a brand new bed, QVC is always there with the best possible tried and tested solutions to lend you a helping hand.
Best of luck and see you midnight on Saturday.
