And here we are well into July and, finally, some warmer weather, hurray! I had a lovely evening at the HarperCollins authors party last week; it was in the courtyard garden of the Victoria & Albert museum and the weather was so warm we were able to be outside all night, which was wonderful. It was a party I’d heard about for so many years and often thought: “maybe one day”. And “one day” was finally here!
I was slightly in awe the entire evening, surrounded as I was by so many famous authors. David Walliams, who of course is now a bestselling children’s author, was there, as was Gail Honeyman (who wrote “Eleanor Oliphant…”), David Baddiel, CL Taylor, Adele Parks… the list went on and on. I had a lovely chat too with Aggie MacKenzie (remember “How Clean is Your House?”) who of course has also appeared on QVC with some cleaning products. All in all a wonderful evening.
And speaking of evenings… I’m sure you’re aware by now that, on QVC at least, 9pm is the new midnight! Yes our Today’s Special Value offers now launch at 9pm every night instead of midnight, giving you an extra three hours to buy them. (It’s also good if, like me, you struggle to stay awake until midnight…)
One to look out for on Saturday night/Sunday this week is the latest offering from LAB sisters and Oxford University science graduates Lauren and Charlotte. This time it’s a gadget for the body – the Smooth Out & Firm Up Body Tool. Along with the body firming gel that accompanies it, this is designed to smooth and firm the stomach, hips, thighs, tops of the arms… wherever you need it. With a massaging head combined with micro current, red light therapy, electro muscle stimulation and thermal warming (heating the skin gently), this is said to help increase elasticity, decrease that “crepiness”, improve lymphatic drainage and generally make the skin look smoother and firmer.
At the time of writing I’ve only had the chance to try this once, so I decided to do the tops of my arms. In just a few minutes the skin looked more supple and toned, so I’m excited to see what happens after the recommended three to five times a week!
Something else to look out for this month is the Diamonique design of the month. It’s a watch (I’ve really got back into watches recently after not wearing them much for several years) and it’s super sparkly thanks to the ONE HUNDRED facets on the face, which is surrounded by twinkling Diamonique stones. It also has a leather strap and comes in a choice of four colours – Black and White (pictured below), plus Blue and Taupe. Very nice indeed.
Finally, a little blooper for you. This was from a Silentnight show a few days ago, where we were presenting from a studio “bedroom”. Not quite as sturdy as a real life bedroom, as you will see…!
