84 degrees to 4 degrees!

Jill and the boysJanuary  can be a tough time to get through.

Last week was meant to be the most depressing week of the year, so the media tells us! Do we believe what we read ?

So I hope you are all doing okay and enjoying it in your own special way like I do. I always try and take a break at this time. Christmas was truly fabulous and with working in between this time and over New Year, I thankfully managed to avoid all the sickness. I don't know how as QVC seemed like one big sniffel bug.

I upped all my vitamins and minerals. My echinacea concentrate extract seems to be my saviour over the winter months and loading my body with even more green vegetables and fruits from the berry family probably helped too. Ginger grated into hot water and sliced lemon also keeps me on track every day.

I escaped the cold to the beautiful beaches of Florida to enjoy temperatures of up to 84 degrees. We were so lucky with the weather as it's normally in the mid 70s. It was hot on our arrival and cold the day after we left. I think Tinkerbell was looking after us. We had record breaking temperatures. Definitely no thermals needed.

Missed our boys desperately and they had a doggie spa day before we came home and were simply smelling gorgeous. They are so funny in the snow. Thought you might like to see Scruncher and Mr B out for a walk with me yesterday (at the top of this post). Mr B loves the adventure and Scruncher literally tip-toes on it as if to say, "What is this wetting my beautiful paws?!" Wonder where he gets that from…

Jill's snow bootsMy snow boots worked a treat. You can't see them so I took a pic for you (left) and, of course, I just happened to be colour coordinated and in pink too!

See you on midnight Tuesday into Wednesday for my first show back with two crazy hours of Nina Leonard. No doubt lenny will be on fine form

Let's hope he makes it through the snow.

Off to see Les Misérables tomorrow. I'm reserving my judgement as I've heard such mixed reviews. Being a musical theatre babe and having grown up with this show during my times in the West End, I know every song word for word! I can't wait!

Lol and keep warm,

Glad you managed to stay well, alas I’m on my umpteenth chest infection-Spring and warmer weather can’t come soon enough. Love the photo. My cats-Henry and Emily have made it clear they will not go outside until it’s sunbathing weather. My house rabbits-Milly and Rupert agree. I meanwhile have to make regular forays into the cold, rain and snow for pussy cat and bunny food and veggies, fruit and herbs for the buns. Sometimes I even manage to fit in some food for me! Where would we be without our animals though? Richer, have a clean and non nibbled house, clothes not covered in a layer of Rupert hair, have furniture that isn’t shredded and not have to go out for yet more supplies when I’m poorly. But oh so lonely. Keep well and warm.

    HI Jill
We must have been in Florida at the same time, although we were in Orlando! I must say I felt a little guilty about the weather knowing it was so bad here at home (only a little!) We even came home with a tan (a real one). I was worried about being delayed at Orlando Airport because of the weather in the UK but our flight back to Manchester was on time, in fact, we flew back in a record time of 6 hours 55mins thanks to a strong tail wind across the Atlantic landing a good hour earlier than expected last Saturday morning.
The drive back to Nottingam was fine until we reached Stoke on Trent when the snow became evident on the ground. Like you, we go to Florida a lot, probably 3 or 4 times a year and love it. My daughter is getting married there next December at one of the Disney Hotels near the entrance to Downtown Disney so we are all looking forward to that.
Fortunately the flu epidemic in Central Florida didn’t affect us.
I bought several pieces of Lenny’s range yesterday and couldn’t help but laugh – you could hardly get a word in edgeways!
    Best wishes

    Hi Jill,
What a lucky girl to get away to Florida!! Do you have a house there? You seem to go a lot. I hope you didn’t miss the boys too much while you were away!! It was so cold at home so lucky you avoided the worst. Wonder what you thought of Les Mis. I actually wasn’t a fan! I haven’t seen the stage show but I just don’t love the storyline. One of the few perhaps. Love theatre though in general.
Hope you have had a good weekend, x

PS Jill love your boots and coat also! And do you recommend anywhere in Orlando/Florida to stay? Cheap but nice. Hard ask! x

    Thankyou for your lovely messages.
My black dress and tights were actually a black top from the USA and leggings.
My girlfriend bought them for mr as a pressure! Quirky but cute huh!
Susan we missed the boys dreadfully . We were lucky to escape the cold . Not long now until springtime .. Yeah!! There are so many places to stay in the USA..I wouldn’t know where to start. Check online and shop around.
Here’s to the warmer months around the corner!

    Hi Jill,
I was wondering (and really really hoping) that you may consider writing a blog etc on nutrician, food, vitamins and herbs and exercise etc. I have learnt so much from you and I am sure there must be others out there that would LOVE you to do this.
I have ME/CFS and I am Vegetarian and have a Gluten Allergy and my diet is pants to say the least.
    Please please consider it.
My two little dogs (Sasha and Leia) say a woof woof to Scruncher and Mr Bojangles.

    Hi Lorraine
I have considered doing a blog on nutriton and fitness etc but it is such a vast subject and a blog just wouldnt do it justice.
It is a job I do when I am not at QVC so it keeps me very very busy.
I love it. Its a huge passion of mine and seeing the changes in peoples lives is incredible.
Maybe I`ll write a book one day!!But its not in the pipe line..
unfortunately I cannot give consultations on blogs but I do love making that difference in a persons life.
    Stay happy and healthy
