With friends

Time for some change

The time has come to make some BIG changes, I’ve been gluttonous, greedy and quite frankly a machine of consumption, eating and drinking all in my path – if I was a superhero I’d be Captain Consumption – ‘always on hand to devour anything solid or liquid in my path’.

You see the thing is it’s everybody’s 40th amongst my friendship groups, plus there are weddings, reunions, other birthdays and of course holidays and festivals. I’m not complaining, it’s been the most glorious fun ever and I’ve really gone for it, saying ‘yes’ to everything, but I currently stand at the heaviest and largest I’ve ever been! So whilst all the food, fun and booze has been consumed there’s been very little expended through healthy choices, activities –  and all that has resulted in weight gain. In addition to that I feel sluggish and gross – so it’s got to stop!

Also it’s not just from the usual vanity point of view of not being able to fit in certain clothes and not feeling comfortable in a bikini, I really ought to think of the health implications of carrying excess weight and not being active enough because this can trigger certain illnesses.

The good news is I know exactly how this has happened and I know exactly how I’m going to undo it. My plan is to follow Christianne Wolff’s method, The Body Rescue Plan for the first 4 weeks then after that I’ll have to adapt it because I’m on holiday in Greece for a week (I’ll throw my trainers in though). In addition though I’m going to keep a grip on how active I am, how many steps I take and how many calories I’m burning, and for this I’ll use the Fitbit. I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now and I’ve got to say it’s really motivational in helping reach goals, even daily ones because you can track everything. Since I’ve had it there hasn’t been a day that’s gone by that I haven’t done 10,000 steps as a minimum, because the Fitbit encourages you to do so! I also find the more activity I do: the better I sleep, and we all know how good for us sleep is!

I won’t share my overall goal but it’s in time for my 40th birthday which means I’ve just about 8 weeks! If you want to join me on the journey and get moving more as well as get a grip on healthy choices in lifestyle, food and drink then we have a Fitbit TSV coming up on Sunday 1st July. It’s a really good way to take control of your lifestyle and motivate you to do more.

Plus there’s something else I should mention which I’ve raved about before on air, in blogs and in tweets – the Tarte Cosmetics Shape Tape Duo is back! Perhaps the best concealer I’ve ever used, this creamy formula offers full coverage and radiance and is fabulous for all spot coverage, dark circles and pigmentation – for best results apply with the quickie blending sponge but you must wet it first! #wetyoursponge

Right just checked my Fitbit and it’s time I took some steps and got moving!

Take care until next time, I’ll update you on my progress and don’t forget I have a big birthday giveaway coming up soon!

Lots of love,

Chloe xx
