It’s all systems go in the fashion department at QVC! You’ll have to wait until mid-February for our spring fashion week, but we’ve been busy preparing for a new season of Morning Style which returns at 10am this Wednesday, 24th January.
Our buying team have been choosing some garments especially for the series, featuring Joe Browns pieces in the first show. The gorgeous viscose tunic top that I’m wearing in the photo features an array of buttons and ribbons, plus pretty stitch detailing, long sleeves and a round neckline. Our new ‘behind-the-scenes’ stylist Stine has used the tunic in an outfit designed to show how effective different textures can be to pull a look together.
Joe Browns is well known for bringing us some lovely dresses with an individual style. I, however, am well known by some for rarely venturing out in a dress! But I think I may change the habit of a lifetime on Wednesday and wear the ‘Effortlessly Elegant Dress‘. It comes in a pretty floral print, has long sleeves and a rounded V-neckline, with tie detailing at the back and an inverted pleat at the waist. It’s machine washable and it isn’t too frilly, fancy or girlie – I love the viscose jersey that it’s made from. I rather like it worn with my ankle boots.
Another of the trends that Stine has chosen to feature on Wednesday is boho/retro and the Coco Bianco wide leg printed trousers help to create the fashionable look. I’m wearing them with a colourful Michelle Hope top which we’ll have at a low feature price on Wednesday.
To illustrate monochrome style we will have some wonderful checked leggings from Nina Leonard. Really substantial enough to call trousers, they’ll be teamed with a MarlaWynne jacket (if it hasn’t sold out, most MarlaWynne new styles do…!) and, I think, would look great with the Pia Rossini hat that tops our boho look. It’s only £27 and can add so much pizzazz to an outfit.
One style I enjoy wearing is sports luxe, and we have a fairly new brand, Bonnie Day, to bring you with a beautifully silky and embroidered bomber jacket.
But the question is often ‘what shoes to wear?’ Well, we will be showing you a couple of pairs of stunning flats. I don’t know about you, but I’m finding that if I wear heels for more than a couple of hours, my joints really complain. I could blame my sporting background, but it’s probably just that I’m getting old!
Anyway, when we have shoes this gorgeous, who cares that they’re flats? Take a look at these suede pumps from Marc Fisher, which feature a pointed toe and elasticated crossover straps.
And as Lesley Ebbetts will be our first guest of the series and one of the names she represents is Peter Kaiser, we couldn’t resist the pointed toe and scalloped detail of the chic slip-on Tila pumps from this stylish brand. I love the pair in dusty lilac suede but they also come in black or navy leather. Not cheap, but SO elegant!
As I said earlier, we will have five days of spring fashion during our fashion week in February, and look out for some shorter special events before that, for example Fashion’s Night In on February 12th. We’ll see the premiere show for new brand Finery London (can’t wait!) and we welcome back Paul Costelloe Dressage, a brand I launched in the autumn and bought a couple of lines for myself.
I wore one of his jackets yesterday to enjoy the Christmas present our son Charlie and his girlfriend Maddie gave my husband Olley – a day at the races. I’ve never been to Ascot before, and we had a great day out despite pretty miserable weather. I felt perfectly dressed in my jacket, a mix of country style and city sharpness. As one of the five star reviews writes: “I love the fit and style. This is classic but trendy at the same time and is so smart. Love it! Please bring more items from this great designer.” I could have written that myself!
So there will be more in February, but you can see what we have in stock right now, and hear from the great designer himself, on our website.
Hope you can join me on Wednesday at 10am for Morning Style, or later in the day for the repeat on QVC Style. See you then!
Until then, best wishes and take care
