I hope you’re enjoying August. Olley and I have been making the most of our weekends and days off and enjoyed a few days in our motorhome staying in a campsite near Sidmouth in South Devon. My brother Pete and his wife Hazel were able to join us for a couple of nights en route to their campervan holiday in Brittany.
The weather wasn’t hugely kind to us although I did manage to take my Nordic walking poles up onto a rather damp Southwest coastal path for an invigorating walk. Olley isn’t really a walker and Pete and Hazel live in the Lake District and spend a lot of their time fell running, so they soon left me for dust (well, mud…) but I really enjoy walking on my own and enjoying the peace of the countryside – it’s very good for my soul.
Olley and I know this part of the world quite well and had fun showing Pete and Hazel around, taking them to the lovely village of Beer where we indulged in a crab sandwich lunch at the beach cafe in between rain showers. Then we headed to Lyme Regis to walk the Cobb, made famous by Meryl Streep in the film The French Lieutenant’s Woman. By this time the rain was persistent but that didn’t stop us sampling the local delicious ice cream. Well, someone has to…!
Back home and back to work, and there’s plenty going on at QVC. A couple of specials coming up have caught my eye and I thought I’d let you know about them in advance.
This Friday sees the second ever Today’s Special Value from Coco Bianco, a fashion brand led by gorgeous prints and great shapes. I love their wide leg printed palazzos (in fact, I’m planning on wearing an orange paisley pair to a ’60s festival’ themed party this weekend). But it’s a tunic top that we’re bringing you on Friday, with fun feature sleeves. It will liven up a well-worn skirt or pair of trousers and bring your outfit bang up to date. Statement sleeves are all over the catwalks and high street stores and these are fashion forward without being too ‘out there’!
Not so long they’ll get in the way or dangle in your food, the sleeves made me want to hold my arms out to show them off when I tried the top on. There are five different prints, called Natural Paisley, Black Rose, Turquoise Peacock, Rust Geometric and the one I can let you see ahead of time, Navy Paisley. To see the others you’ll have to tune in at midnight on Friday, or join me on the Morning Show at 9am. I’ll also be hosting a full hour of Coco Bianco designs at 11am.
The next Today’s Special Value I want to tell you about is brought to us by a brand that has been with us at QVC for years – ABC, or Australian Bodycare. This fantastic skincare range is enriched with natural tea tree oil and inspired by the ancient traditions of the Aborigines.
It has such a loyal following and I’m sure you’re going to love the collection we have for you on Wednesday 23rd.
You’ll be glad to hear it will include not just a full litre bottle of the brand’s hero product, the tea tree skin wash, but also a 500ml bottle. This skin wash is what my smelly teenagers loved to wash with after their sport, and they still use it now they’re older and slightly less smelly! It has over 300 five star reviews on our website so we’re obviously not the only family who have this in their shower.
You will also receive a pack of the wipes that I find invaluable when Olley and I are away in the motorhome, but there’s also an exciting new item – a brand new creamy cleansing bar suitable for face and body. It will be perfect for people like my husband Olley, who prefer hard to liquid soap.
Gently cleansing, refreshing, non-drying, antiseptic and ‘a must on hot days’ are some of the ways to describe this range, and I really think you should take a look if you haven’t come across it before. If you’d like to get your hands on the QVC ABC TSV (!!!) then why don’t you try my little competition. This is the first one I’ve held on my blog, so do take a look. A simple question, leave your answer as a comment below and one of you (chosen randomly) will be the lucky winner of the entire Today’s Special Value collection. Sorry, I can only offer one as a prize, but do take a look next Wednesday to see it on air in our live hours at midnight, 9am and 1pm, 4pm, 8pm and 10pm.
Win the ABC TSV!
For a chance to win, simply post your answer to this question in the comments box and leave your email address so we can contact the winner (this won’t be published):
Question: What does the name ABC stand for?
You have until 11:59pm on Thursday 24th August to enter and I’ll be announcing the winner in my next blog.
