Just a quick note this time, to let you know how my brother Andrew’s wedding to Jo went at the weekend.
We were so lucky with the weather, it was bright and warm enough to allow them to use the newly licensed gazebo in the lovely hotel gardens for the ceremony – the very first couple to do so!
It was a wonderful day with family and friends, some of whom I haven’t seen for a while. By complete coincidence I used to work with Jo’s dad, and it was he who introduced me to my husband Olley when we met in 1983! Neither Olley or I have seen him for at least a couple of decades so it was time for lots of catching up.
And it’s always good to get together with our children Bex and Charlie and their partners Dan and Maddie, as they don’t live with us now. Also our youngest, Billy, of course, even though he does still live at home. I work early and he works late, so we occasionally meet on the stairs! It was a day full of champagne, chatting and laughter.
I was happy with my choice of this lovely Yong Kim dress which was the one the majority of you felt would be the best look for a wedding when I posted photos of some options on my blog a few weeks ago. It was the gorgeous coral colour that drew me to it, and the wonderful draping of the fabric made me feel elegant. The Modalu cross-body bag was the perfect shade of rose pink with gold tone metal detail and Clarks wedge sandals in gold (now on Last Clicks price) finished the look, and made sure I didn’t get heels stuck in the lawn!
Here’s a photo of Olley and me with the children above, and an overview of the hotel garden just after the ceremony.
A perfect day!
Hope you’re well, take care until next time.
