I hope all’s well…
As early spring flowers start to bloom and the daffodils grow in stature, it’s a great time to start thinking about feeding them to maximise their chances of popping up next year with vigour.
I used to go to my local garden centre and stare at all the plant foods, wondering what was best for which plant, shrub or my apple and pear trees.
QVC’s own gardening expert Richard Jackson used to suggest that should I look for a brand with a high potash content, so I tried a few with fair to middling results.
Richard found that he was also often asked similar questions by our Q customers.
So around 11 years ago, Richard set about developing his own brand working with Dr Annie Rainbow, the now famous: Flower Power. But as Richard’s well-earned reputation was on the line, not to mention his cheery face on each tub, it had to be blooming good!
Over the past 10 years, Richard has further perfected the, already successful, formulation and expanded the Flower Power brand. They now provide almost all of our planting and growing needs, fight slugs and snails, and feed our wild garden birds.
On Sunday I’ll be joining Richard in his QVC garden for a wonderful three-hour celebration showcasing his latest Today’s Special Value: Flower Power 10th Anniversary 2.4kg Premium Plant Food.
Flower Power plant food is tried, tested and trusted by thousands of QVC gardeners, as well as many of us working at The Q. It constantly receives wonderful customer reviews, and is even used by some professional growers to help win awards for their plants at major flower shows.
As it’s Flower Power’s 10th anniversary, and to celebrate 32 Gold medals won in the last 2 years, Richard has produced a special, limited edition, anniversary tub specially for the Today’s Special Value.
You’ll receive 1 gold, limited edition, splash-proof, refillable, re-usable plastic Flower Power storage tub and no less than 2.4 kg of flower power plant feed (in three bags). This will make up to 2,160 litres of diluted feed!
I’m no expert but, like so many of our customers, I love my garden and I’ve enjoyed wonderful results using Flower Power. As Richard explains on-air, it contains chelated trace elements for easier and faster nutrient uptake and extra high levels of potash which is the crucial ingredient for extra flowers, fruits and vegetables.
Viewers have sent in dozens of their own testimonials and pictures over the years. I put together this collage of flowers grown in my garden last year using Flower Power:
As mentioned, Richard is so proud that professional growers have chosen to use Flower Power in the past two years and won 34 Gold medals at major flower shows for their plants.
They obviously appreciated it’s professional quality formulation; containing all the key nutrients, micro nutrients, seaweed extract and a wetting agent.
For me, as a relaxed casual gardener, I love the fact that I can feed pansies, primroses, petunias, and pears – using just one product! Richard says it’s wonderful for tomatoes and vegetables too!
I can’t guarantee you’ll win any prizes, but I’m sure you’ll love the results by simply following Richard’s feeding instructions.
I hope you can join us bright and early at 9am on this Sunday!
Also this weekend – jewellery lovers may be interested to hear that I’ll be presenting a rather special hour of our much loved British range: Clogau.
The wonderful Welsh brand produce stunning pieces, each of which contain a ‘touch’ of rare Welsh gold from the Clogau St. David’s mine, Snowdonia. The mine has been closed now for many years, but the gold was used to produce many royal wedding rings.
Well, the team at Clogau have joined creative forces with internationally renowned Welsh fashion designer David Emanuel. David of course designed Princess Diana’s wedding dress in 1981 and has designed clothes for some of the world’s most glamorous women for over 30 years. He is the host and creative director of my daughter’s fave TV show ‘Say Yes to the Dress’!
This exciting new collaboration celebrates love and glamour, capturing the romance and luxurious extravagance of our Royal heritage. Watch out for a stunning new Swarovski stone colour!
Join myself, David and Graham Stock at 1pm, this Saturday.
Until next time… stay floral and glam!
