Wet weather, beauty shows and sooty hair!

Hi again,

I find myself at home, casually glancing out of the front window watching a downpour trying to make up its mind whether it’s sleet, hail or just blooming cold rain – I think it’s decided on the latter.

Toby is asleep at my feet, having been fed, watered and walked, whilst his mischievous pal Ellie, is pacing elsewhere in the house wondering when Ali or Jack will be walking in through the door at any minute.

Ellie being six years younger than Toby, seems to miss them more than Toby. Toby adores them both of course, but Ellie sees them as her fun playmates and clearly more exciting than Tracey and me.

dogsWe give her all the love and attention in the world and get plenty back in return, but we are less likely to be rolling around the floor with her or teasing her with her favourite toys – we do try to make up for them not being around – but it’s just not the same, is it Ellie?

One thing she does totally rely on me for is an epic walk – due to Toby’s recent foot op’ I have been walking them both at a local park with soft, short cut grass – I much prefer to go off out into the woods and heathland for a couple of hours or jump in the car and spend a few hours walking around Windsor Great Park, as I blogged about last year.

We do have an open fireplace but now we tend to light it occasionally. So I bought a device online that blocks the chimney, stopping the flow of your centrally heated warm air escaping up it. It’s a simple idea, but was fiddly to install and I managed to get quite a bit of soot on my head (see picture) It reminded me how my hair used to look ! OK my hair was never that black, rather a dark chestnut brown.

But I needed a good shampoo to clean up with and, as luck would have it, I had been handed a bottle each of Full Shampoo and Conditioner from US brand Living Proof. This exciting brand has appeared successfully on QVC for a little while now, and I get the honour of presenting their first full hour this Saturday (21st Jan) at 4pm along with their lovely Guest Chrissie Allen called ‘Living Proof – Your Best Hair’

.Living Proof

A forward-thinking brand from Boston, Massachusetts, USA with the motto “We are the science – you are the Living Proof”, the brand was founded by beauty experts, world-class hair stylists and biotech scientists.

I hope you can join Chrissie and I and please feel free to tweet me during the show @dalefranklinTV with any questions on the brand and products that you may have.

Following straight on at 5pm I’ll be presenting with Karra Beck, our knowledgeable, charming guest for pioneering skincare brand Perricone MD. They have the honour of the Today’s Special Value offer for the day with their five-piece Skincare Heroes Collection. I love their motto “The Science of aging beautifully”

Perricone fans are passionate about the brand, but you may be new to the brand or have specific questions to ask, so again feel free to get involved with the show on Sunday at 5pm and between us we’ll do our best to suggest possible solutions.

That’s all from me this week, it looks like the sky is brightening up so perhaps it’s time for “Walkeeeeeees”!

Until next time stay soot free and radiant…
