Work, play and home improvement!

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to read my blog.

This past week has been a funny mix of work, play and home improvement! We have had the same inherited carpets in our house ever since we moved in over 7 years ago! They were pretty grim I have to admit, and no amount of steaming, shampooing or vacuuming could save them. They have bothered me for such a long time but every time we managed to save some money to sort them out ’something’ would crop up. Like the time the car needed a complete engine rebuild or the time we had another baby, haha! So finally we decided to go for it and get new wood floors (well they look like wood but they are actually laminate!)

The house was turned upside down for the week but it was worth it. I’m so happy with them and it’s made such a big difference to our little house. It’s amazing what a difference it makes. The kids are loving skidding along the floor, however Fred I think is missing having carpet a little so I am keeping an eye out for a new rug from the collection available from QVC so he can have that under his feet by the sofa!!

Last Friday night was an exciting one for me. I have blogged before about the parenting website/blog, which I make with one of my best friends Anna, called Hey Mummy. Well earlier this year we were nominated for a MAD Blog Award in the video category (MAD stands for Mummy and Daddy). So on Friday we got all dolled up and joined all the other nominees and some of our lovely friends that we know through Channel Mum (our sponsors) at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington for a night of champagne, dinner and awards.img_4730

I wore one of my favourite dresses from QVC which is by Onjenu – it’s no longer available in the short version but we do still have the longer version which is stunning. It’s on ‘last clicks price’ so grab one for the festive season!

We didn’t win but we did get to present an award to one of our fellow vlogging friends, which was a real honour.img_4729

So what’s happening at QVC? Well we have even more Premier Shows coming up and I’m really excited to be presenting one of them. This Saturday 24th at 6pm we have an hour with brand new Chamilia charms and jewellery.

It’s a range of beautiful interchangeable pieces that includes beads, bracelets, charms and locks along with necklaces and earrings. You can mix in pieces that include Swarovski, leather or Murano glass and even birthstones and zodiac symbols which is a wonderful way to personalise a gift.picmonkey-collage2

Some of my favourites are the Wine, Song and Paris trio, and the Animal collection, they are so cute. I have a feeling it’s going to be incredibly popular so please do join us.

Keep in touch and let me know what you’ve been up to. You can also follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

Love from

Katy x

Ah thanks so much Amanda, I’m so pleased with the new flooring. Can you believe though after thinking it would be easier to clean with spillages and mess from the kids that Ivy emptied a crushed packet of kids crackers into the rug! typical, ha ha oh well. X

Hi Jan, thanks for your lovely message. I am so pleased with my wood/laminate floor and yes it really does look very real. I was told not to even think about real wood as I have small kids who would have wrecked it. Friends have said their wood floors were ruined by high heeled shoes too. This is so hard wearing. It’s call Impressive Ultra from Quick Step. I don’t think I can share a link here in the message but if you Google it you’ll find it. Hope that helps, good luck with the house xx
