Taking Heys luggage on holiday

If you’re heading off on holiday any time soon, and planning to treat yourself to some new luggage, there’s a gorgeous set coming up as a Today’s Special Value offer on Monday 8th August. It’s from Heys, and I was lucky enough to try it out on my holiday in Italy back in June, so thought I’d share some pictures and thoughts.

It’s a two piece set – a medium-sized case and a cabin-baggage size – and there will be several different colours to choose from (mine is a delicious Red/Purple ombré). But almost the best bit for me was what I found inside – three brilliantly designed packing cubes, perfect for getting super-organised!

I was fascinated to discover that the cubes are made from a fabric called Ecotex which is made from 100% recycled water bottles, making them very strong as well as being eco-friendly. Always interesting to find out where some of the bottles that go into our recycling end up! These cubes are such a good idea – I packed underwear in one, for example, and then just transferred the cube straight into my hotel drawer in Italy. Quick, easy and hygienic!

The cases are made from a really lightweight polycarbonate composite, similar to the material used to make bullet-proof glass, so despite being so light they are really tough, and have a lovely glossy look which is quite eye-catching and really made my cases stand out on the luggage carousel at Naples airport! They also have four wheel drive – the patented technology makes the four wheels spin 360 degrees and work on any sort of floor surface, making them the most easily manoeuvrable suitcases I’ve ever had. It was really fun whizzing them around (although that’s probably just the big kid in me…).

Heys Suitcases

The cases both have secure locks for peace of mind, and in terms of size I would say the larger case is perfect for a week away, and the smaller is definitely cabin-size. I took it to Dublin when I went over for a night a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my mum’s birthday, flying with Ryanair with just hand luggage, and it was perfect. I just love these cases – they look fabulous (my sisters were oohing and aahing about how nice my little one was when I met them in Dublin!) but they are so practical too. Definitely recommended.

That’s it for now, see you soon!

These look a great set and I agree with you that the in-case luggage bags make life so easy. I bought a set of these recently put all my medication in one, undies in another and all tops in another, they held together perfectly and as you say just transfer the bags to draw keeping them all together and easy to access, Love these cases too!!

Hi Jackie, I love this luggage set its looks so stylish and may be tempted to invest in them. We bought a new lightweight case for our hols in May it was a fabric outer. On arrival in Spain unusually it was absolutely throwing it down and when the case came of the belt it was soaked including some of our clothes when we unpacked so this could solve our problems.I like the packing cases too. I do have a few of these items including a couple of Kipling ones that are so useful for keeping items together ie medications, sun tan lotions etc.
    Best wishes
    Denise xx

      Hi Denise
I’ve had the same issue with fabric cases in the past so I agree, hard shell cases are much more practical and I love the shiny look of these too, and the colours! And yes the in-case packing cubes are genius. Hope you’re enjoying your summer!
