Rise and shine, festival ready

It’s been a hard week with some family issues going on so I’ve been a little hard to find on social media.

I’m back on your tellybox today with two cracking shows on Fashion Day. Y’all must know by now how much I adore presenting fashion shows for you because our ranges are really the cream of the crop when it comes to style, quality and comfort. H By Halston is always close to my heart because Caroline and I launched the range together last autumn. And I’ve got Join Clothes. Over the next few weeks you’ll see me more on the Morning Show, and the occasional Lunchtime Show so check out those shows, especially if you’re more used to seeing me on the evenings of late.

Next Tuesday we do have the most spectacular Today’s Special Value from Iluminage which harnesses incredible technology and is clinically proven to zap away your unwanted face and body hairs for good. Whatever your skin colour. I’ve had a sample to try. Not long enough to see the long-term results but enough to know that it doesn’t hurt or smell of burning hairs and is a doddle to master the use of.

One  high point over the weekend was the Mostly Jazz festival. The most chilled out, family-friendly, peaceful, music festival tucked away in a private park in the suburb of Birmingham I’ve not long moved into. My friend Ella bought me the flowers for my hair that you can see in the pic below. We relaxed and snacked on picnic food whilst listening to incredible live music from bands like Bostin’ Brass, Eska, The Tropes, De La Soul, The Average White Band and George Clinton.

Fabulous stuff.

I’ve another one lined up: Made Birmingham. I’m a big lover of Grime music and the big thrill for me is that one of Britain’s most celebrated Grime MCs is coming to the fest: a young man called Stormzy! Here’s a highlights video from last year. Thanks to the organisers for offering me two tickets. There are still some tickets left, so if you or a music fan in the family fancy dragging a friend to go, then do it!

And also a young female MC from Birmingham whom I admire very much and once made a BBC 1XTRA radio documentary  about. I remember seeing Lady Leshurr on stage back in 2008 at a very local arts showcase in Brum. She blew us away then and she’s really worked hard as a lyricist, growing into a lady with the most incredible following. Millions upon millions of views on her videos online. My favourite is below, Queen’s Speech 4 (Brush Your Teeth)

Hi Marverine, my daughter and her cousin are always listening to Lady Leshur. It’s a catchy song – in fact she seems to have a knack for catchy tunes. I like some grime too – I thought I was the only one of our age that liked it as it seems that way some times! Enjoy the beautiful weather and keep having fun Marv. Regards Julia x

Hi Julia, wow wow wow, your daughter loves Lady Leshurr too? That is awesome. I think one of the big ressons why Leesh does so well is she doesn’t swear in her lyrics, she’s just cheeky. Meaning the whole family can enjoy her mischievous flow!! We’re in good company. I’ll post any pics that I can on the blog afterwards xxx

    Hi Sonia
Thanks for your lovely message: I highlight with either a Tarte Cosmetics or Bare Minerals Concealer and then use Bare Minerals Original Foundation in Golden Dark. Keep matte where I can with BM Matte Finish Mineral Veil. Hope that helps? Any more questions, come back or msg me on my FB page (TVMarv)
