3… 2… 1… 50 Hours of Fashion!

No one looks forward to the long warm days of summer drawing to a close, but I think there is a reason to anticipate the coming of chillier evenings with pleasure – the chance to choose a couple of new outfits to add to my autumn wardrobe! And there’s no better time or place to do that than on QVC this week.

We are celebrating the coming of autumn – and the launch of the first of our brand new seasonal fashion designs – with a 50 hour extravaganza of all that is fabulous from our Fashion department – starting later today!

It kicks off with a two hour preview on the catwalk at 6pm this evening, when Julia Roberts and expert guest Lesley Ebbetts will be showing you some of the highlights from the different brands, styled together to create outfits to suit all sorts of sizes, shapes and personalities.

This is a brilliant opportunity to showcase how the various pieces work together, mixing the different brands and designers to create outfits you won’t find on the high street. It’s something we do on Morning Style on Wednesdays, and it seems to help you find your way around QVC fashion to make it really work for you. I’m sure you’ll be inspired by Thursday evening’s performance – I always love the urgency and vibrancy of our catwalk fashion shows.

Then 48 hours more fashion, from midnight tonight until the end of Saturday. We have a lovely geometric cardigan from Nina Leonard as our Today’s Special Value offer on Friday, with a fabulous price and a number of colour options.

The special focus on Saturday will be a soft autumnal coat from Centigrade in five gorgeous colours, which means we’ll be treated to a visit by fashionista Glen Campbell to tell us all about it and how to wear it.

Some real favourites are turning up as well – I start Friday at 9am with Fashion by Together, and we have lots of new pieces that I’m really keen to show you. It’s mainly tops, which I find the most useful, with burnout-style fabrics, embellishments and embroidery to create something special in every garment. Then at 10am, another favourite of mine, Yong Kim, again featuring lots of new styles.

We continue through the day with Liz Claiborne New York and Michele Hope, and on into Saturday with shows from Join, MarlaWynne (hooray!!), Bob Mackie, Attitudes by Renee and Chelsea Muse by Christopher Fink, all showing off their new designs for autumn.

Of course, an outfit isn’t complete without accessories, and everyone knows that it’s impossible to own too many handbags or shoes, so we’ll be spoiling you with all that is good from Kipling, Tignanello, Sketchers, EMU and Clarks, with jewellery kindly provided by Lola Rose.

All in all, if you love fashion it’s a ‘must be there’ situation. Autumn gives us the opportunity to indulge in fashion, and our 50 Hours of Fashion does exactly that. I hope you’ll join us to see what’s new – prepare to be tempted…

See you on Friday

    Hi kathy
Never blogged before but heard you mentioned your youngest son was moving to live in Castle Donington. I live a short drive away in Beeston and travel there often. It is a lovely little historic village with a few quaint shops. My youngest son was married in the village. The people are friendly, it is close to Nottingham, Derby and on a good road rail network including the airport. I wish him happy times there.

    Hi Cathy
I caught a glimpse of a rather nice floral top you were wearing on the morning show yesterday Wednesday 16 September, where can I buy it from?
    Kind regards
