Your one stop holiday shop

1

With the summer holidays creeping closer and British holidays feeling that bit more bearable, we’ve launched our online Holiday Shop to help get your jet-setting checklist prepped and checked.

We’ve got your holiday wardrobe, beauty necessities, hi-tech toys for when you’re travelling and pool-side, plus clever gadgets to keep tabs on how your home is doing while you’re away.

While you’re here, we thought we’d help you get started on your packing with a few of our top picks tailored to different holidays.

The essentials

These are the things any holiday needs. They’re split into two categories: on-your-way and while-you’re-there.

To start us off, if you’re heading abroad, get your passport looking as fab as you with this gorgeous Lulu Guinness passport holder and luggage tag set. Who knows, maybe injecting your journey with designer flair will help your attempts in being bumped up to first class!

If you struggle to get comfy while you’re travelling, you need to try J Pillow’s genius neck pillow. It supports your head, neck and chin while you travel, defeating the most rickety of buses when it comes to comfort wars. Then you can simply sit back and enjoy the ride with the rubbish book your sister recommended your Kindle in tow to enjoy your complete library in one sleek device.

Once you’ve arrived, keep your Kindle (and any other device) going with Ventus’ charging kit. It can charge two devices at once and has three interchangeable plug adapters to use with UK, EU and USA sockets – a lifesaver if you’re continent-hopping.

This kind of adapter is also ideal for catering to your hair tools. Yes, plural. With Ego’s brilliant travel hair styling kit you get a mini straightening iron, hair dryer and tongs, so you can make the most of that all-natural sea salt texture you’ve been working so hard to perfect at the beach.

Most importantly, it doesn’t matter whether you’re exploring Brighton or Bolivia, you need to get you and your gang kitted out with sun protection. Ultrasun’s discovery kit is a great place to start, whether you need to stock up on your favourite brand or looking for an introduction to the range.

Beach

Sun, sea and sand. Is there anything you even need to pack with that dream trio? Well, these Ravel Savannah sandals help, nailing the current embroidery trend with a gorgeous floral pattern. Plus, there’s nothing like a maxi dress to make you feel like Carrie Bradshaw on holiday. This Nina Leonard design offers a beautifully-flattering shape, an array of exotic prints, an easy-to-wear length, and lightweight material.

Next, you need the classic ‘day at the beach’ buys; starting with towels. This set of two large towels come in a choice of three fun and vibrant colour options, and are the perfect size to wrap up little ones (hands-down our favourite snapshot of a beach holiday). The second beach must-have: a large bag. This chic shopper tote from Orla Kiely is the perfect balance between looking stylish and being practical for those tricky beach conditions. The PVC coating makes it perfect for wiping sticky sand and ice cream away, while the sturdy straps and full zip make it perfect for cramming as many essentials in as you can!

City break

There’s something about a city break that seems to raise the style stakes much more than other holidays. You’ll be entering a perfume advert, and will need to look the part.

Your catwalk starts from the get-go with your airport arrival. This leather Amanda Lamb holdall has stolen our attention with oodles of style and space, two comfy handles, a detachable shoulder strap, and a gorgeous turquoise tag.

It’s always worth bringing a smaller rucksack too, so you can keep your maps, passport, money, and gadgets secure and organised. We’re loving this small printed design from Kipling, taking the cute kitsch trend and adding sanity-saving pockets and zips.

Now, our go-to city wedge would usually be in tan or black, but for our next trip, we’re feeling a bit more adventurous. Clarks have some gorgeous designs to choose from, all offering the support for your feet the brand are known for (cobbled streets are bad enough in trainers). We love this pair of gold wedges, offering a contemporary take on a classic design. The extended straps covering the heel give a modern and eye-catching twist, and gold goes with everything!

Next, we’ve got your outfit. Shirt dresses immediately spring to mind if you’re sipping your café de leche in the square, so take a look at this chic design from Ronnie Nicole, featuring a stylish print and contemporary contrast borders – perfect for any setting and effortlessly sophisticated.

Walking

Whether you’re an avid walking tour-member or just love to get lost in a new place without an end point in sight, you need to make sure your feet can last all day and prepared for any weather.

These Skechers GOwalk trainers boast a sock-like comfort and fit, with the brand’s latest shock-absorbing technology. Combine that with Centigrade’s water-resistant hooded coat featuring down and feather padding, and you’ll be going from dawn ’til dusk.

We’ve got some handy accessories for your walk too, like Sunagor’s binoculars for spotting birds, shooting stars, or Hollywood stars (in a non-stalking way…). Plus you can keep hydrated with the cool kids by using a super trendy Bkr glass bottle.

Camping

Give the birds something to tweet about and deck yourself out with all of your outdoor living luxuries.

For starters, we can’t ignore the essentials all campers depend on. The humble torch is a saving grace for any event, from midnight ghost stories to late night trips to the loo. With this set of five from Halo, everyone in the family can be assigned their own and pick their favourite print.

Never underestimate the power of a good-quality fleece. This men’s Trespass design and Quacker Factory piece for women are both warming and practical..

Leave cross legged aches and pains to the kids with this reclining, adjustable lounger.

It’s also worth noting, sleeping under the stars on the grass isn’t as romantic as it used to be, especially if you ask your neck and back the morning after. With this design from Aerobed you can get the great outdoors with home comfort, and it inflates in minutes while you sit back and relax (enter lounger chair) with a glass of whatever you fancy.

Wellbeing retreat

We embraced the health-kick trend this year with our online Fitness & Wellbeing hub and it seems this summer is likely to go the same way with vegan and technology-free yoga retreats becoming more and more popular. We’ve got some gorgeous buys to help you look the part, starting with Purelime’s stylish vest top with ‘Clear your mind’ printed across the chest. Vercella Vita’s sports leggings are ideal too, with stylish detailing at the cuffs and subtle support to keep your figure looking fly. Lastly, this baggy hooded jumper from Cuddlduds is perfect for throwing on between classes, with a slouchy and comfy poncho-like shape falling at the sides.

Once you start keeping fit the wellbeing way, you’ll want to carry the life ethos with you everywhere you go. We love this Om symbol necklace from Lisa Snowdon, complete with a real diamond accent, and Pilgrim’s hamsa hand charm.
