On Thursday, we answered more of your beauty questions live after my Beauty Fix show on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Incase you missed it, here are some of the questions you asked on Facebook…

Q.  What would you recommend for dry flaky itchy eyelids which I think is from the season change as I'm not sure whats safe to use on the eyelids a) to get rid of the flaky bits and b) to moisturise as have sensitive skin.

A. You need to use as simple a product as possible, so not necessarily a beauty product but a single oil from your chemist or health food shop, such as Jojba or Almond oil, massage this onto the lids and around the eye area and then wipe away with a warm cloth or cotton wool. Don't apply beauty products to this area as yet, if the sensitivity doesn't calm down within a few days speak to your pharmacist or doctor. Ali x

Alpha-H Liquid GoldQ. Hi Ali, I have sensitive skin with lots of under the skin lumps, bumps and get horrible breakouts round my chin. My skin isn't dry or oily, but can be red and these breakouts can take weeks to clear up. I have used various skin are over the years and linearly has always kept my skin under control, but not lately. I use mally make up and wonder if this could b aggravating my skin

A. This situation isn't necessarily aggravated by makeup, it's normally more influenced by hormones and possibly eating habits. If your skin dramatically improves when you don't wear makeup for a few days then this is possible.

I would definitely recommend the Alpha-H range if you haven't already tried it as this works very well on this skin condition, however it will take several months to settle BUT you will see results within the 30 day money back guarantee period.

If you don't OR you've tried this range before I would make an appointment with your doctor as they will have options that you can discuss, as your skin may need medical help before a beauty routine will work. Hope this helps, Ali x

L'Occitane Shea ButterQ. Hi Ali, I'm in my early 40s at the moment my body skin is quite bumpy and rough, especially my arms. What would you recommend for me to use? Thank you ! Xx

A. You need to exfoliate your body once or twice a week but the arms three times a week and apply the SBC Propolis Gel to safeguard any infection in the skin followed by an extra rich body cream such as the L'Occitane 25% body butter. Ali x

Hi Alison, I have watched you for years! yes, I have, I have a question that I hope you will be able to help me, I have recently lost 4 stone in weight (on purpose) but this has given me a problem with my face! it is going south! I have deep lines appearing from my nose down to my mouth and then by my mouth some puffy line thing is happening and I have jowels! i’m in a bit of a state, I just don’t know what to do about it – I have been using Elimis Marine Cream, and although my face is hydrated it is not helping with lifting, which I obviously need, can you help with some suggestions please?

Hi Alison I have read all your advice on apots and acne, as my 14 year old son continues to have spotty skin. He uses Liz Earle’s Cleanse and polish as well as ABC tea tree skin wash in the shower. The redness has definitely improved and under the spots his skin is smooth with no apparent dryness. The spots tend to be on his cheeks (at the moment ) so are quite promenant, there are also alot of blackheads around his nose. Before using cleanse and polish he did have very spotty, dry skin so there is vast improvement. My husband is a GP and thinks we should try some antibiotic cream but I am reluctant until we have tried everything else.
Do you have any other suggestions?

    Hi Alison
I was wondering if I can use the red carpet manicure gel topcoat on an ordinary nail polish.
Also can I have your autograph please
