Sometimes I wonder where my days off go and that is particularly the case this last week although, in fairness, there has been a lot going on. Last Saturday we set up all the equipment in the gym and I had my first workout … aeropilates of course!
How lovely to once again hear Marjolein's dulcet tones talking me through the exercises, something I haven't had in two years because I haven't had a TV/DVD in the same room as the machine.
They are now gracing the walls of the gym as my inspiration to try and get into something resembling that shape … a bit of a long shot really as they were done thirty years ago!
I had another workout in the afternoon, followed by watching a bit of the Wimbledon final. What fantastic tennis and how gracious was Roger Federer in defeat?
It was good to hear Dan so enthusiastic about how his boys acquitted themselves in the group stages of the tournament, winning all their games quite comfortably, but it was disappointing to go out to a Ukranian team in the knock-out stages. They all had a really good experience with highlights of one of their games and an interview with Dan (dubbed into Slovakian) featuring on the local TV channel. It's a good job he's done a bit of TV work before so it didn't phase him too much!
On Wednesday Chris was off to a different airport to collect Sophie and her friend from their Ibiza holiday. It was also the day we heard that the contracts had been exchanged on Daniel's flat. Exciting times for him as it will be the first time he has had his own place and it is much closer to his work at Crystal Palace.
I have mixed feelings. It is great that he has somewhere of his own but I will miss him being around. He will also be taking Wilfie so a double blow for me. At least I will still have Poppy and we may be having a new house guest … more on that next week!
So, in some respects, it was a relief to be back in at work yesterday for a touch of routine and normality. This afternoon I have Flora Mare Maritime skincare at 4pm, a range I haven't presented before, and more Kim & Co at outlet prices for Fashion at Five. I have more Kim & Co on Sunday along with Elemis and the fabulously fragrant TSV, after which I should be home in time to watch the World Cup Final.
Most people seem to think it will be a walkover for Germany after their thrashing of Brazil on Tuesday in the semi-final but Argentina are a very different prospect with the genius that is Messi in their ranks. I just hope it is a good game … I am a total neutral in this one!
I have a lovely week ahead at work, including launching the Lola Rose TSV at Tuesday midnight and Beauty Day on Thursday, and I may even finish my book!
Have a great weekend much love,
