It has been an incredible couple of weeks of Wimbledon tennis, with huge congratulations to Andy Murray for his second Wimbledon title. His court coverage is astonishing. I was sorry to see Federer leave the championships on the second Friday, and I definitely think that the tournament wasn’t the same without Nadal.
Then, of course, after the men’s championships there was a football match later in the day. You may have noticed or heard about it! Wales did fantastically well in the tournament – a huge achievement for the squad.
I haven’t played tennis for a number of months now. Since my surgery, the tennis playing fell to one side, so there is no question that my game has slipped. I’ve now booked a number of lessons with one of our clubs coaches to get me back up to speed before I head back out on court.
I’ve also treated myself to new tennis shoes which are incredibly bright. In fact, I’m pretty certain Tim Peake could have seen them on board the International Space Station!
I wonder if, as a little boy, it was his dream to be an astronaut? I know so many of us wished for that as children. Well, it certainly came true for him.
Looking ahead and glancing at the schedule, I’m thrilled to see I’m launching Diamonique Week this coming Monday 18th July.
You may have noticed we are celebrating Diamonique throughout the month of July, but this coming week has specially themed hours every afternoon Monday through to Friday.
I’m launching the event with Jackie Kabler from 4pm. I promise to be on my best behaviour… but will she?!
I hope you can join us.
See you soon.
