Lots of people have worked in Battersea for many years, some since QVC first began broadcasting on 1st October 1993. We've racked up a massive 163,651 hours of broadcast in total!
BUT the new studios are beautiful, the sets look amazing and there's a real feeling of moving on to new pastures…
I've been over to our new studios in Chiswick a few times now and it's been a long time in the planning. The work that has gone into moving us from one area of London to another has been immense! It has taken over 36,000 hours to prepare, installing 253,000 metres of cabling and moving more than 1,500 crates as well as numerous boxes, cages and clothes rails over 200 separate journeys!
Here's a little preview of some of the areas at our new home, which will house over 500 people, 587 computers, 111 TV screens and 20 cameras! Before you even get into the building you're greeted with this stunning lake (top left)… there are definitely worse places to eat your sandwiches at lunchtime!
The picture above (left) is one of the dressing rooms, they're all really bright and quiet too. Plus, we love the Hollywood style lighting around the mirror, well it's nice to pretend isn't it?!
The picture on the right is of our new Green Room, this is where all of the QVC guest presenters can relax… there are tables, a sofa area and a pretty swanky kitchenette, it's nicer than my flat!
Meanwhile back over in Battersea Alison Young thought it would be a good idea to leave all of her packing until the last minute…
As you can see from the pictures above Ali has collected a few 'treasures' over the years, talk about hoarder! She also found a very apt t-shirt buried under years of products, we love it.
So join us live on QVC all day on Thursday the 7th of June for the first shows from our new home, I'll be tweeting pictures throughout the day and reading your comments out live on air. Plus, we'll have lots going on for the first four days in our Grand Opening event with special offers, great brands, a fab competition and more!
See you soon, Will x
