Having talked for years about how good Northern Nights sheets and duvet sets are and how the high thread count is wonderful and good enough to wear, I decided it was time to put my money where my mouth is. On many an occasion, I have said to Susie or Sam (our Northern nights guests) that: "this sheet would be good enough to wear" and "I would like to get some shirts made of the beautiful fabrics".
Well, I have placed an order with a tailor to do just that. I sent him the sheets from a few different sets and I am having four shirts made. I am very excited about it as I think they will make wonderful, soft, luxurious shirts that will last well in the rough TV studio environment.
I chose an ex TSV (830825) Persian Paisley, because I loved the colour of the peacock blue one. I am having two shirts from that – one in the paisley and one in the plain reverse. I also chose the deep moss green of 828157 as it is Egyptian cotton and a high thread count of 350. It also has a beautiful sheen to it and I don't have any green shirts. The other two are both the same design (829236), which is called Tallulah and I liked the yellow and the lilac options.
Well there's the deal! I hope to get them soon and will be wearing them on air, but having never had shirts made like this before, I hope it will work. I don't know if there are any tailors or seamstresses out there but is it a good idea? I met one lady, who was on a studio tour here at QVC towers, and she said I should have had them cut on the bias! One step at a time!!
I'll post pictures as I get them but do let me know what you think… some people think I'm mad!
