79% of Brits say crafting distracts them from everyday worries about money, work and relationships whilst a further 89% of us are left brimming with self satisfaction in creating something unique ourselves.
Our survey showed that in both the North and South of the UK we're using crafts to enhance our sense of wellbeing. Londoners use their craft hobbies to help them cope with what life throws at them (76%) whilst those in Yorkshire and Humber believe it makes them more thoughtful (72%).
So who's the craftiest? Wales is home to the keenest crafters with 77% taking up a creative hobby whilst those in Northern Ireland are less eager with only 56% having ever tried a craft activity.
Surprisingly the male/female divide was especially close with 79 per cent of women and 63 per cent of men being regular crafters. Amongst women, card making is the most popular hobby whereas men prefer to paint (49%) or make models (43%).
