Gosh it's nearly the end of January already – talk about hitting the ground running! I don't know about you but January has FLOWN by for us. Usually I find it quite a long and uneventful month but it's been chock-a-block this year! Although of course we've found time to play with shadows and such the like – always important!
Plus we've put our house on the market (something I'm beginning to regret!) and I'm writing a huge amount this year for a couple of rather exciting projects, not to mention being mum, running the house and juggling BBC Radio London (Dempsey was in with us last week!! See picture left). With QVC too, and my online magazine for women – The Raphael Project, 2011 has a LOT in store so organisation is the key for me!!
So, taking a break from work, this week I volunteered to be one of the parent helpers on my daughter's school trip to Windsor Castle – it was so much fun! I now have yet another new found respect for primary school teachers as I don't think, even 3 days later that I've fully recovered!
I have to say, if you're ever nearby, it's an absolutely brilliant day out. Highly educational and loads of fun too… not to mention the fact that Windsor is a beautiful town to mooch about in!
I found myself chatting to one of the teachers about the fact that she wasn't sleeping properly and we talked about having pen and paper beside the bed to jot down worries. Personally, I've found it really helpful for a number of years as there are some nights when your head can be so full of 'things to remember' that just being able to get them out of your head and onto paper really helps you let go and fall asleep.
I wrote an article a couple of weeks ago on 'Time Management' which has a similar theory … pen and paper, where would I be without it? I guess that's why I'm still a Filofax girl! So roll on February – I'm armed and ready!
