Where did January go??

Pipa's daughter making shadows Happy New Year everyone!!

Gosh it's nearly the end of January already – talk about hitting the ground running! I don't know about you but January has FLOWN by for us. Usually I find it quite a long and uneventful month but it's been chock-a-block this year! Although of course we've found time to play with shadows and such the like – always important!

Pipa and Dempsey Firstly, my husband as you know had been up in Newcastle playing in the band for the Theatre Royal panto, so he didn't come home until 16th Jan.

Plus we've put our house on the market (something I'm beginning to regret!) and I'm writing a huge amount this year for a couple of rather exciting projects, not to mention being mum, running the house and juggling BBC Radio London (Dempsey was in with us last week!! See picture left). With QVC too, and my online magazine for women – The Raphael Project, 2011 has a LOT in store so organisation is the key for me!!

Windsor CastleSo, taking a break from work, this week I volunteered to be one of the parent helpers on my daughter's school trip to Windsor Castle – it was so much fun! I now have yet another new found respect for primary school teachers as I don't think, even 3 days later that I've fully recovered!

I have to say, if you're ever nearby, it's an absolutely brilliant day out. Highly educational and loads of fun too… not to mention the fact that Windsor is a beautiful town to mooch about in!

I found myself chatting to one of the teachers about the fact that she wasn't sleeping properly and we talked about having pen and paper beside the bed to jot down worries. Personally, I've found it really helpful for a number of years as there are some nights when your head can be so full of 'things to remember' that just being able to get them out of your head and onto paper really helps you let go and fall asleep.

I wrote an article a couple of weeks ago on 'Time Management' which has a similar theory … pen and paper, where would I be without it? I guess that's why I'm still a Filofax girl! So roll on February – I'm armed and ready!

    Hi Pipa,
Happy New Year to you and yours!
what is it with you presenter’s at QVC always moving, haven’t you heard that it is one of the most stressful thing’s to do?
I live near Windsor Castle but I never get tired of going. Windsor is such a lovely place no wonder the queen has a pad there!
    Best Wishes

Hi Pipa, always enjoy reading your blogs, it’s great you can make time as you’re obviously so very busy.
I have been looking for a leather wrap bracelet for quite some time and noticed you have been wearing something resembling what i’m looking for, is it an item we might see on qvc?
I always enjoy watching the independant designer jewellery shows on qvc and would like to see some more leather jewellery too.
    regards Anne x

really great aswell if you were thinking of going there again, good luck with the house hunting, and happy new year to you and your family. Gina xx

Hi Gina, glad you enjoy The Raphael Project, I absolutely love running it!! You’ll never guess what happened today… When we went to Windsor Castle last week, one of the girls had made the Queen a card and handed it to our guide. I thought to myself “I wonder if that will just go in the bin” and today she got a thank you letter from the Queen! How fabulous?! ….granted it was signed by a lady in waiting but still, it makes ME want to make one! I was rather impressed to say the least!
Anne, sounds like you have a creative eye on the jewellery front – I’ve been wearing a watch which is on a very thin leather cord which wraps twice around the wrist, I love it. Sadly not from QVC though – although if you email me through my personal blog, The Spaghetti Wombers (dotcom) I’ll be able to tell you! And finally Janet, yes indeed stressful is an understatement!! I don’t know what it is with us all – something in the water perhaps….and QVC is moving building next year too, that’ll be a whole load of other stresses!!!!
Much happiness to you all ladies and thank you so much for your comments xxx

    Hi Pipa
I saw you on the Mally show last weekend wearing a gorgeous navy chiffon top. Is it something I can buy on QVC as I would love to get my hands on one!!!

Hi Lesley, it’s not QVC, it was from Zara – and only about 2 weeks ago so you should still be able to find it if you have a store near to you xx

    Hi Pipa,
I too LOVE your style and think you’re a fab funny presenter. Just had to say though I am so sad after reading wonderful Ali’s blog and learning that she has breast cancer. I hope you all pass on our love and thoughts and give her lots of hugs and support from us. Many thanks. Your little chicken is lovely by the way and Ophelia is such a pretty name.
    Take care

    Hope the family are well
