On Tuesday, the 30 million-copy singing star apppeared on QVC to promote his 'Very Best of Billy Ocean' CD which, of course, sold out in minutes. During the interval between his two live sessions, Billy took part in a fun penalty shoot out, with me and the lovely Anne Dorrington.
The rules were if you scored, you won a viewer prizes, from £20 to a special 'Love Surprise' in the following hour. I'm pleased to say that between us we won the lot. Many of you know I'm a lousy footballer, so you might be surprised by my success. My secret? I had some last minute coaching from one of the producers, Luke 'Capello' Hulett!
Elsewhere this week, I had the honour of attending the opening of a Greenfingers Charity Garden at Acorns Children's Hospice in Selly Oak, Birmingham (pictured left with little Liam Bloomer).
The gardening charity had funded and created two gardens at Acorns; a sensory garden complete with soft coloured planting and a gazing ball, as well as a fantastic play garden complete with a race track for remote controlled cars, fun mirrors, a teenage chill-out zone, barbecue station and a great interactive water feature.
One of the mums told me just how much these gardens meant to her and her family and it made me even more determined to try to help Greenfingers to raise the money they need for more of these wonderful hospice gardens.
Have you bought your raffle tickets yet (see my last blog)? If not, please do your bit to help. The amazing prize of over £6000 of garden plants and equipment is so good, that last week even the top BBC Gardeners' World presenter Toby Buckland has bought tickets from me!
