When Craig met Daisy and Gracy

Debbie and Craig with pups As the puppies go from strength to strength, and get bigger and bigger, my lovely mate and fellow presenter Craig popped over to see them this week – it's always nice when pals take the time out to come visit isnt it?

I've known Craig for a while – ever since we met at a TV Travel Shop audition around six years ago! I was so pleased for him when he came to QVC. And now we regularly catch up with all the gossip at work, but what with shifts being what they are, it was fab to have him over.

Craig met not only the pups, but some of the extended family too! Anyway, with the sun in the sky, we put the world to rights, accompanied by a faint gnawing sound and the occasional yelp – yes the puppies were on top form! LOL. You may see more on Craig’s own blog!

Abi from Ultrasun meets dog_picnik Another visitor this week was the lovely Abi from Ultrasun. A friend of mine had discovered a new once-a-day product from New Zealand, and who else to ask for advice than Abi, so she popped over for a quick gander. The main thing was, it was lovely to chew the fat with another great pal from work, plus the pups enjoyed meeting her! I must reiterate (at the risk of boring you) – Ultrasun is genius!

Now that they’re about 15 weeks, they’re starting to learn quite a lot, and are always a lot of fun! They learn much from the big dogs – who have their own party tricks! Of course, the reason we got the pups was because of Lauren! So it’s lovely to see her enjoying them in the lovely summer we’ve had so far!

Lauren playing with the pups

And for Marg, who said on the comments page on the previous puppy update, that the real star is soppy Patchy, this video is just for you!

Patch It’s such fun seeing Patchy playing with them both – even Holly’s started to enjoy them and have a game with her favourite duck toy! In fact, we’re having a bit of a breakthrough at the moment – trialling shared sleeping arrangements! Will report back on that next week!

Keep enjoying the summer!

Debbie with Ian and BJ P.S. I had fun with Alison on the Desert Island Beauty hour on Thursday 8th July – despite Alison’s playful digs! One of my faves was Philip Kingsley, so in honour of lovely Ian (big hi to his ladies who apparently love watching us) here’s a pic of him with me and BJ, who does all the behind the scenes styling! Talented bunch!

Debbie you are so brave taking on two choccie labs! I have a black labbie called Cassie who does the same thing in her paddling pool as Holly! I also have a choccie lab called Toby (short for Toblerone because he’s full of nuts!) and despite the fact he is almost 7 he certainly doens’t act it! We have to keep everything out of his reach even now despite training classes! he is his own boss – unlike Cassie who is the sensible one of the two and raises her eyes to the heavens whenever Toby wants to be a complete idiot which with choccie labs is all the time! Good luck!

HI Martin – yes I am! Including some fab craft, and lighting and hitech in the evening!
Helen – I’m beginning to see what everyone’s warning me about! This week my poor Birkie Flip Flops became a Flip – Gracie decided the ‘flop’ (left foot) was a good chew toy! Oh dear! Have just found out they’re probably not going to be back in this summer either! Woops!
Funny watching her and her sister Daisy in the garden tho – the hole they dug is a good cool spot in the hot weather! More pics soon!

    Hi Debs.
Lovely pics of the little guys. I breed boxers and at the moment, although we used to have 7 – yes, 7! – I only have 2, dad Oscar and son Caspar who due to a thoughtless workman leaving my gate open, had an accident and now has only 3 legs. ‘only’ makes it sound a bit negative; Caspar isn’t hampered at all by this. The day after having his leg removed when he was 1, he was running up steps! They certainly cope with trials better than we humans do. But then, I consider my babies to be human. I don’t want children, so that’s where my guys come in. At least they give my mum the grandkids she’s always craved! She treats them better than me! Just kidding – sort of.
I don’t know whether or not you agree, but I think dogs need to be in pairs; with boxers, one on his own would be lonely. If anything happened to one of mine, I’d get another. Are labs like this?
While I’m on Debs, could you help me with a fashion conundrum I am having? I’m a petite size 4 – 6, and find it difficult to clothes shop. There are some ranges on QVC I quite like, such as Ronni Nicole, Tiana B, but even the smallest size they do is too big for me. Could you possibly speak with the buyers and see if they would consider stocking a range for petite ladies? I’m sure I’m not alone in my predicament, so this would be quite a popular range.
    Thanks Debs.

    Hi Debbie!
Just wanted to say that you are a great presenter. You’re always so bubbly and full of fun.
When I was living in Lincolnshire, a friend got me to watch QVC. He absolutely adored you and said that I looked like you! Do you remember a a guy called “Tony” from Lincolnshire from around 1998? Unfortunately, he passed away recently. I watch QVC, and you and the show reminds me so much of the good times of when I lived there and watched QVC with him. So Debbie, you are a star, so keep on shining on QVC for as long as you can.

    Hi Debbie,
What a nice thing to say in your last reply to me…though I’m not sure I am a treasure! You deserve the comments any way. You’re a great person. Craig seems so lovely too and lovely the 2 of you got together this week for a good catch up. Hi to him from me! Keep up with the blogs about the pups of course! They’re great!
    Take care,

I have a yellow lab called Bella aged 9 months and a choc lab called Dora aged 11 weeks – it’s harder work than I realised but great fun. I am enjoying reading your blogs and it makes me feel there is someone else out there who knows what we are going through at the moment. Love the little pool, if we have more summer I will get my babies one too. x

Louise – your little guys sound fab! Yes I do think it’s a marvellous idea to have them in two’s. Patch has always had her mum Holly there, and the two new terrors play all day long – I mean ALL day! In fact I got home at 4am the other day after the saturday night late shift (i think) and Gracie and Daisy decided they would career around the utility room lilke whirling dervishes for half an hour before they settled down again – they did sleep a lot the next day tho! lol.
Hmm – your request will be passed on. THere are some ranges that come up smaller – kim parrish is one for instance, whereby the xs is small like a 8/10 small. BUT I’m sure the demand is met for the majority of the sizes rather than the extremes, but no less I’ll ask. Must say tho =- lucky you to be so petite! 🙂 Last time I was a size 6 I WAS 6!!
xps do me a favour? Would you kindly send me your request again via the comments page but would you put in capitals at the top – PLEASE FORWARD EMAIL TO DEB, BY HER REQUEST pls? They’ll then email it to me and meanwhile I’ll find out the best person to forward it onto internally! Make sure you state which ranges you mean. best wishes

Jenny May – thank you so much for your kind comments – the name does ring a bell. Sorry to hear of his passing. Lovely of you to say hello again!
Susan – craig is absolutely one of my favourite people. He’s kind, caring and funny – and helped me a lot with the puppies when I had to bring them into work the other day! He’s a real treasure too! Jilly’s my other best mate there and has been since we both started on the same day together all those years ago! Lots of good pals and nice people and it’s great to be back so thanks again for your kind comments!

    best wishes

    Hey Debbie,
Craig does seem just fab, as of course Jilly is! I asked her if she’d ever get her hair cut to frame her lovely face…no response so I take it that’s a no!! I think there’s a lot of you who just make up a lovely bunch of genuine normal no airs & graces type people – which in the TV world is quite admirable! Keep up that nice style! Have a good rest of the week.
    Take care,

Thanks for your reply, Debs, and for agreeing to try and help me with my dilemma. Ranges I am interested in are: Kim Parrish, Ronni Nicole, even some Kim & Co. As long as they came in my size 4 – 6. Any new ranges, perhaps specifically for the petite lady, would be welcome.
    Thanks Debs. Keep well.

Thanks Susan – so nice of you to leave a comment! Yes Jilly’s quite happy with her hair the way it is I think! But am sure she’s happy people are interested to comment! Thanks for your thoughts – – very nice of you – and best wishes!

    HI Louise!
Our lovely fashion buyer Sasha has come back with the following news…
“We are lopking into a petite selection in some of our ranges to launch at the back end of 2011. I don’t know which ranges yet though.”
Thanks so much for your interest. Nice to be able to come back with some good news, albeit a long wait but for the first time in 17 years we’ll have some petite sizing!
    best wishes

    Hello there, Debs.
That was quick! I knew I could rely on you; you really care about your job and your viewers. I’ve got something to look forward to then. I’ve waited quite a while, so I can wait a bit longer.
I can remember when Bradley and Lauren were on a QVC new years eve show – how they have both changed! Brad’s a good looking boy and I bet you’re so proud of them both.
Hope the pups are well, developing new personality traits all the time. Isn’t it true that a dog’s love is unconditional? I know that’s the case with my boxers.
Thanks again, Debs, and keep well.

Hi Debs, Thankyou so much for the video, I am so surprised that with a busy life you can remember who wrote what about anything.
I think Patch’s nature shines through,if she were human I’m sure she would be a Mary Poppins or Nanny M’phee,or perhaps a genuine Mrs Doubtfire. I had a black lab when I was in my early teens, but as I was at school my mother thought she was too much to deal with and had her put down,I loved that soppy bitch so much, she loved hard liqurice sticks and I used to bring them home at the holidays for her,I cannot ever have another lab but I have always had dogs, there is still a space for my Tracy that none of them ever filled.
Thankyou Debs, I will not forget your kind gesture,

    Hi Debbie
Your dogs are soooo lovely – makes me smile. I didn’t have my dog when he was a pup, as he was a rescue dog, so missed out on all that fun! He’s not here anymore but I still miss him loads – have a cat now and she is lovely, but am I the only one who thinks that it’s just not the same?
Love your shows – you seem to be having as much fun as always.
