What’s in your Kipling…?

We have an exciting Today's Special Value offer from Kipling tomorrow (Saturday 8th June). Kipling bags are a favourite on QVC with customers and presenters alike! We asked four of our presenters tell us why they love their Kipling and what they carry in it!

Debbie Flint's KiplingPresenter Debbie F on why she loves her Kipling:

I love my Kipling bags because they're so practical, stylish and fun! Currently my fave is a gorgeous little lavender bag with enough pockets to organise me, but not too big that I overload it and get shoulder ache! This one's also smart enough that I can use it for going out to the theatre etc. The zips are amazingly strong and easy to do up too – just a minor point but considering how much I use them each day, it's really important they don't stick or break. Finally, I can wash them in a washing machine if I need to! And of course, it's always fun to go monkey-spotting, and spot other Kipling lovers out and about!

Chloe Everton's KiplingPresenter Chloe on why she loves her Kipling:

I use this particular Kipling bag for the gym and other sporty activities. It's colourful, lightweight, fits loads in and has the slogan 'Play everyday' which itself is quite motivational. I carry my favourite bright trainers (I think they make me run faster), I have my leggings (always black) and a sloppy oversize t-shirt (usually 80's neon).

After the gym I wouldn't ever use anything else on my hair except my Phillip Kingsley shampoo and conditioner, the difference it has made to my hair after just four weeks is incredible. Now my locks are manageable, have volume and to be frank my hair just looks better.

I never leave the house without my mobile phone and if I forget it, I always go back for it. It's pretty much an extension of my hand at times, I use the diary, tweet from it, send and read all my emails, basically I would be lost without it (a little bit sad). Then there's my Tiger Balm (menthol), I turn to this for everything, any ailments, colds, headaches, tiredness and any other times of need. My Tiger Balm is my best friend, my comfort blanket and soul mate, I'm never without it.

I always carry a few items of skincare too, I have a skin condition that requires I am protected from the sun, so I have UltraSun lip care and UltraSun facial SPF 50 which I wear everyday, even if it's not sunny, it also matifies my skin. Sun protection is a topic that's close to my heart, my father has skin cancer so it's something I'm paranoid and passionate about at the same time. My new favourite addition to my on the go beauty at the moment is my Elemis flash balm, it provides a moisture kick through the day, especially if I go to the gym, it's also a great handy size to care around too.

Claire Sutton's KiplingPresenter Claire on why she loves her Kipling:

In MY Kipling bag…is a cacophony of doggie delights! I realised that pockets just don't cut it when it comes to training my gorgeous one year old (just!) golden labrador Gus… The pockets in my Centigrade coat were overflowing and not quickly to hand which is vital when whistling, poo picking up! And of course…. rewarding him for his gorgeous goodness! So I knew a trusty Kipling was in order. Practical, stylish, roomy yet light weight…all the reasons we chat about on air in fact… So, in my Kipling is…a retrieve dummy, poo bags, (all good owners carry in abundance) a whistle, his lead. My phone, for safety and photo opportunity of course! My keys and the best bit for Gus….Pet Munchies from QVC (he loooves them, especially the chicken!)

Kathy Tayler's KiplingPresenter Kathy on why she loves her Kipling:

I've loved Kipling bags ever since I bought my first – a dark blue backpack from a store in Madrid airport when I was killing time travelling alone for a BBC Holiday assignment, probably about…ahem…25 years ago! One of my current favourites is this camouflage print in soft blues and neutrals. As always with Kipling, it's easy to organise all my things so that nothing gets lost – I can find whatever I need as everything has its place. What do I carry in it? Well, not the kitchen sink, but not far off!

Along with the essentials of keys, phone and usually my iPad, I have a few beauty essentials and quite a few 'just in case' items. In one compartment I put hand cream (my current favourite is Lulu's Hand to Hand Combat,) UltraSun Lip, a crystal nail file and my Philip Kingsley brush. My emergency provisions go in another pocket… I try to eat healthily but often hunger can creep up on me when I've been up early in the morning – I need to be prepared so that I'm not tempted to buy something I shouldn't really eat. I like to have a piece of fruit with me, usually an apple, and I have nuts to hand as a tasty and filling snack that delivers protein as well. Toasted Marcona almonds are my passion at the moment – I have to remember that just a few is good, half a bag is a calorific indulgence!

I also fill my metal QVC water bottle with tap water to carry with me. When I'm looking for something more interesting to drink I often choose tomato juice but like to spice it up a little – a mini bottle of Tabasco chilli sauce does the trick! If I'm dressing up and wearing heels, I like to have a comfy option for my feet when the party's over – I don't do high for long! These Betula flip flops from Birkenstock are perfect – they don't need much space and weigh exactly four and a quarter ounces! And one of my gorgeous Lola Rose scarves is perfect for style, warmth or cover up at any time of day.

Finally, my Liberty print covered notebook is where I write my to-do lists (I never seem to get to the end!) and anything I want to remember – maybe a sudden thought or idea, perhaps websites or recipes from magazines I read at the hairdressers or in the dentist's waiting room. And should there ever be a few spare minutes, if I have my Kindle with me they won't be wasted. I love to read and although I prefer to have a book in my hands, a Kindle is so much more practical for slipping into my Kipling bag. Several times I have bought a book to read at home and then downloaded the digital version to take out with me. The best of both worlds! And the best of the handbag world, for me, is certainly one of my many Kipling bags.
