The Riviera Collection

March looks set to be a very exciting month when it comes to all things beauty. We have a fantastic line-up of Today's Special Value offers, a must-own Pick of the Month from Mally and a few new product launches, which I've been lucky enough to try out. Here's what's in store…

Leighton Denny
Leighton is launching his new spring/summer colours exclusively in March on QVC. His polishes have always been incredibly smooth and self-levelling which makes them just as easy for the professional or the viewer to get a great finish.

Nail queen Sophy Robson used 'Meet Me In Monaco' (the pastel orange shade from the SS13 range pictured above) at the House of Holland catwalk show at London Fashion Week this year. She created this fab look as snapped in Cosmopolitan Magazine with 'Meet Me In Monaco', 'Brick Road' (only on QVC) and 'Not Tonight' .

‘Riviera Trio Bold’ has my name written all over it including two amazing blues ‘Get Your Cote’ and ‘I’m So Soiree’ while the ‘Riviera Trio Opaque’ has Julia Roberts, Debbie Greenwood and Claire Sutton’s name all over it with a beautiful ‘Pink Promenade’ and a pistachio shade called ‘Yes We Cannes’.

The Weekend Away collection has got some amazing new textures. If you love ‘Supermodel’, you will love the metallic nude of ‘Breakfast in Bed’. ‘Honeymoon Suite’ is the new sophisticated greige , ‘Get A Room’ is of course, my fav, being in the blue family but ‘Do Not Disturb’ will be a sexy summer shade to show off your tan.

Daniel Sandler
Radiant Sheen Illuminating PowderOn Wednesday 13th March Daniel will be showcasing his new Radiant Sheen Illuminating Powder. A prism of four metallic, diamond-like lustre shades that give an illuminating and highlighting finish.

This will be beautiful going into the summer months to give your skin that barely there colour when used as individual eye shadow colours or to complement your jewellery.

Pick out the white gold and the bronze as highlighting shades on the cheeks. Enjoy the fun of application with different textural finishes depending on whether you apply with a wet or dry brush or use the colours separately or swirl together. Either way I think it will be a sell out.

OPI
OPI-Pink-Nail-EnvyDuring March we will continue to have the world exclusive launch of ‘Pink Envy’. It will be coming back into stock on Friday 15th March in its full size with the full size top-selling Avoplex as your must own, speedy nail strengthening and glamour duo.

Pink Envy’ has only ever been officially retailed with QVC and is the original Nail Envy nail strengthener with all its results and with the added benefits of being mixed with this cool pink blush shade it makes nails immediately look groomed and glamorous as well as treated.

The Avoplex, of course, is QVC’s longest standing and highest repeat purchase cuticle oil which treats the new nail and can improve future nail growth as well as giving instant glamour and condition. I’m sure, like me, you will be pleased to see these back.

Ciate
CiateCiaté has always been fashion forward and a darling of the celebrities and press for creating the newest nail fashion. The nail techniques have famously been worn by Adele, Emile Sande, Pink, Jessie J and Rihanna.

Charlotte Knight, the founder and creative director, is also our on air guest so you can teach yourself first hand, the aspirational, innovative manicures.

In March we have one of her newest nail creations launching called the ‘Very Colourfoil Manicure’ which gives you the base colour, fabulous high shine and multi-dimensional foils with the glue and instructions. All you need at home is some imagination which we can help you with, and a top coat.

Keep checking back on my blog as I'll try to answer as many of your questions as I can and keep you updated on all the latest beauty launches…

Can you advise what is best to use for this.
I have been using Decleor aroma cleanse followed by one of their oils I alternate and then either, Elemis PCMC, or Decleor Balm.

    Dear Alison
First of all I just want to say how much I enjoy your shows and thank you for explaining you products so well.
But I am not sure which brands are for the younger skin types and which are for the more mature skin. I am randomly buying product from QVC as they all seem to look great. Can you advise me, my skin is 50 years old.I am at the moment using Liz Earle. But Gatineau and Elemis also look good, also the Decleor on today’s special value looks good.I also have two teenage daughters which I would like to buy for from QVC in future, so what would you also recommend for there younger skin. Thankyou for advice and help.

    Hi Alison,
I wash my hands alot and so I suffer with very dry skin! I have heard Julia Roberts say that Decleor handcream is her favourite for her dry hands, and so I was wondering what your advice would be for my problem?
I sent you a tweet yesterday about your hair looking different, and then I saw it was on Mally’s recent trip to QVC, as I saw the re-run of the Product of the Month. I must say it really suited you and I was wondering why you changed it back to your usual style?

Oh sorry! One more thing I wanted to ask you. I love Leighton’s new Riviera collection and I see it is £55 on his own site. I now see you are saying it will be sold as trios on QVC, and I would love to get the lighter shades, I also cannot afford the £55! So which three colours will be in each trio? I love Yes We Cannes and Mine’s a Rose, particularly. Can you also tell me what date it will be on and the price?
    Thanks Ali.

Hi Alison, My daughter is in her 20’s and for the last 6 months her skin has been prone to spots and blackheads! She used the decleor aroma cleanse, but since her skin has been problematic i ordered the elemis sensitive cleansing wash and sos cream! This did seem to help a little but not long term, what else would you advise?
    THANKYOU, KAREN.

    Hi Myfanwy,
I’m sure Ali will be on to answer your questions properly but just thought you might like to know that when Ali’s hair looks like it did on the Mally shows it’s because she wears the Ken Paves Crown Hair Piece.

    Hi Ali, me again!!
I asked you about handcream for dry hands. I do have some Loccitane, which is good, but my hands still look aged and dry. I have the OPI trio, which includes their handcream, and for some reason I had tucked it away and forgotten about it! I have been using it for the last few days and it has made such a difference! The thing is, I would like to buy it on it’s own in a bigger size. Is that possible?

I received my Revitalash TSV form the advance orders and started this Wednesday. I know it is supposed to take a month but I have such challenged lashes from chemo and secondary cancer maintenance treatments – nails ravaged, lash, brows, hair – my hair is the ultimate chemically treated hair from inside out – LOL, it appears to be working on them already.
But with only 4 days use, I notice improvement. My mascara grabs more lash when I put it on and bare lashes at night, look longer already. Cannot wait for the full effect. I might even look decent. I also could not live without Leighton Denny Bio-Build Treatments. At least now my nails look halfway decent even if not long. I do the intensive treatments Leighton showed us on FaceBook.
I love his new colors but will not be able to get anymore since the Royal Mail started seizing and destroying nail polish. I lost my whole Nails Inc TSV and all the other orders I placed in January. I am so upset I will never get these lovely nail colors again. They brightened up my life which is difficult enough. Thank you for such great products.

Hi, I have quite a large pigmentation mark right on my cheek bone so
its quite noticeable, I’m 56. I saw my Dr last year & he used
dry ice, I think, saying it would burn scab fall off & hopefully
reduce the mark. It hasn’t really done this well. I then tried
ag3derm, from the British Virgin Isles, this burnt quite a lot & I
only used it a couple of times, they say use it daily for up to two weeks.
The mark went white, like peroxide would, then red scabbed then I
didnt really notice any difference, I probs didnt do it
for long enough but it scared me. This was 3
months ago. So I decided to try Alpha h, I got it from qvc around a month
ago. I bought the liquid gold with the 50 sunscreen moisturiser. Plus the
radiance & liquid gold face mask. I love these products, was not
sure at first as they advise not to use a night cream, but its
true my skin feels wonderful in the morning. Trouble is this mark sometimes
goes red & scabs. I use the mask once a week, I use the liquid
gold one night the radiance the next. What am I doing wrong please. I got
this specifically for the pigmentation mark but cant seem to use
it one this now as it feels sore, Im worried I may have damaged
myself. Also the 50 moisturiser is this good enough to use, say on holiday
sunbathing, in place of a normal sunscreen?? I love this product as
its matt & not like most facial sunscreens which are
    sticky.
    Many
