I haven't really written much about the house I'm currently living in but that's probably because it's only temporary. We took it on a six month contract as I'm still undecided on where I want to settle down closer to QVC's new home in Chiswick. We are now halfway through our tenancy and we are still no closer to deciding on where to start looking!
The house was built in the 1930s and is located on a green, a little oasis of calm, so much so that it is difficult to remember that there is a busy main road just 2 minutes drive away. I liked the house immediately, but the deciding factor was the quaint old wishing well in the garden.
It is a proper well but the owners of the house have had a custom-made cover inserted into it as the previous tenants had young children. I'm quite glad actually as Poppy has ventured out into the garden on several occasions over the last couple of months and the last thing I want to do is get the fire brigade out to fish her out of the well!
In some respects it's a bit of a shame that it's blocked up though as it would have been fun to throw a few coins down there and make a wish. I wonder what you would wish for??
I'm looking forward to my weekend off, although the weather doesn't sound too promising, and then a busy week ahead with the start of the Paralympics on Wednesday and Chris' birthday on Thursday. Incidentally, after much perseverence, I managed to get tickets for the Closing Ceremony of the Paralympics. I was really delighted and that was before I found out that Coldplay are in the line-up… result!!!!!
Have a lovely weekend and Bank Holiday and see you on Thursday afternoon,
Much love, Julia xx
