It's my mum's 87th birthday on Tuesday so we will be going up to Nottingham to see her. I don't like putting her to any trouble preparing food for us so I usually make a quiche and take it with us…kind of 'meals on wheels' style.
As it's her birthday I'll also take a cake but I haven't decided whether to do the traditional chocolate cake, coffee and walnut or maybe something different – any ideas?
We will be taking an extra guest with us too. Chris has gone to Lincolnshire to bring his mum down to stay with us for a few days so we thought we could take her home via Cotgrave. Our mums get on really well and have been known to have hour-long phone conversations…I wonder what they are saying about us?!?!? It's a shame they don't live closer to each other as I think they would become good friends.
It's been a busy week with lots of sessions at QVC, lots of writing of my new book, and a meeting with the British Polio Fellowship yesterday to discuss future events and fundraising activities. We met at a French restaurant in Covent Garden, Balthazar, and not only was I impressed with the food - I had a pea and spring onion risotto with almonds - I was also impressed with their choice of toiletries in the ladies room…L'Occitane!
It set me wondering where the furthest place, or the most unlikely place, in the world is that you have come across QVC beauty products? There will be a prize of some beauty goodies for the best answer.
50 Hours of Fashion kicked off last night at 10pm with a fab two hour show before the launch of the Trinny & Susannah TSV. Everything on air until Saturday midnight is on 3 Easy Pay so it's the perfect opportunity to start putting together your Autumn/Winter wardrobe. I'll see you later for Dreamkeeper at 4pm and Fenn Wright Manson at 5pm.
Have a lovely weekend.
