We’ve got a new member of the family!

Jamie Don’t worry, no new babies… we have a new dog! Our old dog Tyra is now almost totally blind and deaf and navigates by smell alone, so we thought we should get a new companion for her and us.

We went to a few rescue centres but couldn’t find any dogs that would get on with kids, cats, old dogs and chickens.

But then we got an email from the Brittany club that they had a four year old boy who needed a new home. So, on Saturday we went to Suffolk to meet Sue and Andy, who are breeders, and were introduced to Jamie.

He's a very energetic and strong, but gentle and kind young lad. So we brought him home and he has settled in incredibly well and quickly!

He needs loads of training as he pulls on the lead like a train, but is very eager to please, so I think he will start to learn very quickly. We don’t know too much about Brittanys (a spaniel breed from France thats a bit of a mixture between a Springer Spaniel and a pointer), so we have much to learn. The kids think he’s 'well cool!', but the cats are not so convinced!!

I’ll keep you posted on his progress and will post a few more pictures soon.

Hello Simon, you lucky people. I would love animals but I can’t have any. Jamie looks brilliant and really good fun. I hope everyone is getting on well with him and that he is looking after Tyra too. How are the hens?
Give him and Tyra a pat from me.
    Hugs
Tina X0X0X0X0 (one set each) and pats for the dogs

    Hi Kristina
Sorry its taken me a while to get back to you! Everone’s fine and Jamie has settled in brilliantly: He’s great with the kids, quiet as a mouse in the house, loves a cuddle and is really gentle with our old girl- Tyra who is no totally blind and deaf. He still won’t walk to heal (a work in progress) and he would definitely chase the chickens , if we let him! All in all we have been very fortunate to find him as the new family member.
    Love Simon X
