Our Christmas ended up being a little spontaneous and brilliant with it! We whizzed down to the Isle of Wight to see Mum and Dad (Dad pictured left).
Originally, we were planning to spend a quiet one, at home, with the recent arrival of the puppies but Dad's been in terrible pain with his back. So we put in a couple of calls, booked a ferry and cheered him up (hopefully!) with our visit and the hilarious escapades of the puppies!
Wrapping paper didn't stand a chance as long as they were around! It was a big family get together in the end and as well as great food and the pulling of crackers, we played quizzes and games then rounded off the day with the karaoke machine! Thankfully, no recordings were made!
Overall, we had a great time and hopefully managed to distract Dad from the pain a little. The highlight for the puppies had to be their first walk on the beach! Misty (pictured left) was particularly pleased at finding a dead crab, the size of a coaster!
She carried it beautifully with the legs dangling out either side of her mouth! We eventually caught up with her and managed to separate the two! Bramble, on the other hand, found a washed up fish! I'll spare the details!
We came back to see in the New Year and I was soon back at QVC. I bumped into Dale, both on and off air.
I'm really enjoying twitter. I'm @mecharliebrook. I'll keep you updated there with the puppies escapades and what's happening at QVC, including my new Destination Gems show, every Tuesday evening at 8pm.
The first show was so exciting (many thanks if you managed to tune in) and this Tuesday (8th Jan) I'm particularly looking forward to it. We focus much of the show on Australia! Look out for coloured Diamonds, Opals and Australian Sapphire. Take a look at our promo video below too.
Plus we'll have a fantastic competition coming very soon as well! The prize is a beautiful loose amethyst in a presentation case, it weighs over 5 carats! Check out the pictures below…
Ok, I'd better dash, I can hear the puppies stirring!
Take care and see you soon.
