Weekends away and Christmas must-haves!

Hello again!

It’s finally here! December, can you believe it? So much excitement in the air but still so much to do! How prepared are you for the big day? You’re probably deep into ticking off your friends and family on your ‘present’s list’, and hopefully you’ve decided what you would like too – decisions, decisions! Yes, yes, of course it’s all about giving, but secretly we all like to receive too (excuse the pun!).

The weather has certainly dropped, and there’s even talk of a white Christmas. So since the weather’s cooled down, our social diaries have heated up, and the Christmas party invites are flooding in, we’d better all start thinking about our festive outfits! Glamorous dresses aside, I absolute love a Christmas jumper. Now that it’s December I think it’s fine to wear one – here’s a few fab designs to choose from.

Personally, I’m loving the Quacker Factory twist on a Christmas jumper this year with this festive shirt number!

Speaking of celebrations and parties, this is the year that most of my school and university friends turn 40. It seems that big numbers come with even bigger parties, so far I’ve been on trips to Berlin and Tenerife, with even more to come in the New Year. Each party has had its own fancy dress theme, and oh what fun it’s been! I’ve just returned from my weekend in Tenerife, which had a Hawaiian theme for the whopping 28 of us who made the trip. We enjoyed meals out, parties in and even an afternoon at a beach club.

Of course there’ll be more celebrations to see in the New Year. This time there’s a group of us off to Cornwall to stay in a friend’s cottage. We’re planning on doing fancy dress, so I need some suggestions from you all please, as we haven’t managed to come up with a theme yet! If you have any ideas, pop them in the comments below this post. So far my favourite is Bananas in Pyjamas!

In other news, I’m still doing well with cooking lots of fresh and tasty food to stay healthy throughout the winter. I’ve found that investing in some good quality and versatile pans has been crucial in motivating me and helping my repertoire! The Copper Chef is an absolute dream. It’s six pans in one – roasting, rice, steamer, stock pot, wok, baking dish, and it’ll even go from the hob to the oven. The Copper Chef is designed for rapid, even heat distribution and features a non-stick surface, so no need for any extra oil! Plus, at 24cm (9.5″) in diameter with deep sides and a volume of 4 litres, it’s perfect for feeding a family of hungry mouths! Check out what I’ve whipped up.

Fortunately, it’s even dishwasher safe, so no need to worry about cleaning up afterwards. Keep a close eye on QVC on 4th December for our Today’s Special Value. It’s the perfect buy in time for Christmas – especially for any of you who are hosting this year!

You should also make sure to watch out for one of my favourite QVC guests on the 7th December. The wonderfully funny and passionate Doris Dolton  is bringing her innovative make-up range over from the States to share with us here at QVC. Doris has worked for some of the world’s leading beauty brands and now she’s doing it for herself with the fabulous six-piece About Face Collection from Doll 10.

This fabulous set features the HydraGel Foundation, which provides great coverage and is perfect for creating a dewy look and the HydraGel Concealer, which in Doris’ words would cover and hide a third arm if needed! Plus, this gorgeous collection also features the much-loved HydraGel Lipstick, the beautiful H2Glow Highlighter, HydraGel Cheek Balm and an applicator brush – all boxed and ready to go!

Lots to look forward to! I’ll be back with one more post for you before Christmas. Don’t forget to leave me ideas for New Year’s Eve fancy dress themes in the comments below. And as always, stay healthy and happy.

Much love,

Chloe

Hi Chloe I am on a break in Cornwall at the moment and the weather is AWFUL!!! I can’t think of any helpful suggestions about what to wear here for fancy dress because it has to be windproof, waterproof and warm. Whatever you decide I am sure it will be fun.
    Love to Teddy

    Hi Chloe,

My favourite theme for a party was ‘Be a Pop Star’, which thankfully didn’t involve anyone singing but of course we had loads of amazing ideas including a husband and wife turning up as Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne – they were so convincing they literally stopped traffic! I went as Siouxsie Sioux complete with the big hair, eye make up and appropriate garb. We had Shania Twain, Bob Marley and JLo amongst others.

Whatever theme you choose, have fun!

    Nikki.
