Weekend in the land of the windmill, crocodile and the house in the clouds

Craig and his friends at the House in the Clouds Hi there,

Hope you are well. Just thought I would share with you a wonderful weekend I had with friends in Thorpeness, Suffolk. What a magical place – it was actually originally built and paid for by the vision of Scottish barrister Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie, and it really is so fascinating.

Our weekend consisted of lovely long walks, a couple of pub lunches and taking it in turn to prepare scrummy meals! The reason for going was my friend Jacqueline's birthday – there were 7 of us – 5 grown ups and 2 children so never a dull moment!

House at Thorpeness beach The house itself was stunning, right on the beach and Suffolk is a county I do really enjoy going to. I enjoyed Thorpeness and as well as the house in the clouds and the windmill we also saw the crocodile on the lake – crafted from wood but very lifelike!

Hope you like the photos, house in the clouds, photos of the gang and even me in a Craig in his dapper new hat! hat that I couldn't resist trying on in the antiques shop!

Have you ever been to this part of the world? Any weekends away planned?

Hi Craig. On an insomniac night I decided to catch up on the presenters blogs and couldn’t believe it is so long since you joined. I watched all the ’rounds’ and voted for you:-) I’m so pleased that you enjoyed your time in Suffolk – I live just a few miles from Thorpeness and I think that we have one of the best places to holiday. Come back again in the summer and you will love it more!! Keep on being fun. Sue x
