Can’t reach your back? Watch out for this fab new product called Sunbuddy coming Tuesday 9am, more below. Plus the best Liz Earle competition yet! A Superskin special – someone’s got to win it!
This week I had a very busy time – yes I was working and writing, but the wedding on Easter Monday was amazing.
And more from the wedding! My nephew Ricky got married and my son Brad was best man. He did sooo well, we were all very proud. It was on Easter Monday when the gale force winds were threatened, but happily by the afternoon the sun even shone! My kids looked amazing as usual – I’m so proud.
Here’s me and lovely daughter Lauren as well – both the apples of my eye. There are so many cousins, we try to use such occasions too take a pic of everyone together in their glad rags. This one made me smile – the photographer said shout hooray – you can see the ones who did! More pics on my newsletter this week!
Newsletter on my website this week’s subscriber-based email also features the amazing news about Roland the broken dog’s latest x-rays – you just gotta see them – go here. it really warms the cockles of your heart to see such good progress. And what a comparison to the awful original breaks in both legs. And lovely Lorri Vick has organised for her vet’s practice charity this year to be my very own Medical Detection Dogs! Yay for Lorri, the nurse who’s made it all happen for little Roland.
Read it Write it Sell it And of course updates from the book blog, including ‘the Diet Myth’ – and how to get your own gut analysed – featuring the book of the week, click here.
Plus this week’s Back to You blog featured more on this month’s new ‘Freedom Eating One Month Programme’ = it started this week but you can easily catch up as it’s in stages. Just begin at the start and work your way through in your own time. More here.
Inner Chimp-Antsy Also I interviewed the wonderful Prof Steve Peters, author of the Chimp Paradox, by Skype. He told me some amazing things about how our Inner Chimp works during times of stress and in particular during attempts at weight loss. He told me something fascinating which helps to explain why my Facebook support group Till the Fat Lady Slims has been doing so well (search it on Facebook or go to my TTFLs tab on my website to see the link).
He said that it’s vital that everyone has someone to confide in. Do you? One thing I noticed is how many of our members on my TTFLS group talk about needing to share and open up in a way they obviously don’t outside of the group in their real lives. That’s an interesting notion isn’t it, that my support group is helping to breed success where previously people had failed. Obviously why some slimming groups work for some people too, but by no means all. More about this on my B2U blog here, where the long-awaited Freedom Eating One Month Programme begins!
Date for your Diary – June 12th! There are lots of lovely QVC guests lining up to attend another fabulous Sunday afternoon Table Top sale and Vintage Teas just outside Dorking behind the Wotton Hatch RH56QQ. I’d love it if you could come along! There are some fab B&Bs nearby, for those who have asked. And yes, the Medical Detection Dogs will be there. Do join us.
More DebWeb Vlogs this week all on my Facebook page – see the back list and my other antics this week on my Facebook page – and do ‘like’ the page so you’re ready for the bumper Beauty Bash Goodie Bag competition coming soon only on that page! That’s where I’ve been putting some regular video blogs – vlogs! Hehe – you will see some if you go here – and you don’t have to be on Facebook to see them.
Webchats I’m so glad that, after all my web chat pioneering for four months Sept – Jan, that we are seeing so many more of them on our own QVC UK page now! Yay! Sara Griffiths talks here about her first one, and this week Craigy also had one featuring the lovely Lisa Snowdon! More please, and keep up the good work, webteam!
Hair Today, Lady and the Tramp tomorrow… my hair got cut this week and when I saw this in the mirror it reminded me of one thing – that Peggy Lee doggy who sang the title song! Bom-ba-bom -ROOOFF!
Facebook funny – very appropriate given the Freedom Eating One Month Programme that began this week! Lol!
Watch – post modern jukebox – another fab cover version taking modern songs into history – Britney could not better this!
Another super show I binge-watched this week is Doctor Thorne. Set in the 1830s it’s the Julian Fellowes’ adaptation of the Anthony Trollope story charting the need for a young squire to marry into money or lose the family estate and the tangled web of inheritance wrangles that lead our heroine into his arms. Loved it. Did you? Here’s the trailer.

From a lovely lady on the TTFLS Facebook group –
‘So loving all the latest information you are providing. Great gut health is so key for a healthy immune system and fermented food is amazing for this. We use VSL3 probiotics with our darling son, fermented vegetables and natural yoghurt. We manage to keep the candida beast at bay. I just wish that doctors would take the effects of candida overload more seriously as it can be linked to so many illnesses. I like the way you have passed on your learning, in bite sized chunks and I am sure that with everything you are doing you are helping an ever-growing community feel much healthier and happier. I really so admire all the hard work you put into this.’
